Nah, joe was using a 1600mah with 103g and the only difference between a 1600 and a 1800 is probably about 10-20 grams. Find out the weight of your 1800's then find out what the sky lipo 40c 1600's weigh. I wouldn't go over 1800mah though.

+1!!! Lol I'm interested to see how this compares to the 48" EPP... It would only be like $30 more to go for the 48" EPP instead.....

I THINK the 48" is to heavy for it's self, like to much epp. With the 48" I could not do a full throttle straight down while spinning, it would just not spin because the epp on the ailerons were flexing, where with the 40" it is not has much mass and it has alot less aileron than the 48". So I THINK the 40" will do alot better. That is what I am hoping for anyway.

You also have to take into consideration the increase in motor cost too. Granted it is not that much but it does add up. Luckily they use the same servos so that helps the costs.

I have the Houseki SBach that is made by Skywing (same factory that makes the EPP 3DHS birds) and it is 40" http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1586679. It flies great! I think 40" is perfect for the full fuse EPP birds but I have not tried a 48" yet. Do not let me 71" AJ Slick hear this but the SBach is my go to plane right now. It is small so it fits in the car easily, takes a variety of batts, I use 1000's, 1300's and 1550's, and is very durable so I tend to fly it lower then most of my other planes. I have a feeling that the Edge will fly just as good if not better then my SBach and that is one reason why I am so excited. The other is that it will be my new night flier and to be honest I am kinda getting tired of my old one.

Bring on the EPP Buck Huck!

Also just the look of this plane just makes me want to buy it, while flying, it will be hard to tell that it is epp with paint and not covering.

Yeah, I have the Hokusei/Skywing Sbach in addition to my 3dhs balsa planes and a multiplex Parkmaster. I'm certainly considering enlarging the fleet to include a 3dhs 40" EPP edge.

Ok, cool. On the hobbypartz website it says the gens ace 1800mah 25c batts(which is what I have) weigh 143g and the sky lipo 1600 40c batts weigh 148g.

I still don't know. 103g or 72g. I like power so maybe the 103g.

Yeah 103 unless you have a 72g sitting around.

Yes. It's like the 42", the 72g on the 42" has enough power but the 103g on the 42" was just awesome. So it is an inbetween thing just like the 42".
