You can set telemetry for data recording and use Jeti PC software for plotting last position.

Thanks Zb. Hopefully Jeti delivers the receiver firmware early next week, I'd love to have the receivers in my hands before Christmas as I'm off work from 12/21-1/2.

I'm still confused with the receivers.
ZB mentioned a few times that all US receivers are full range but on the Esprit web site may of them are listed as indoor/parkflyers. What have I missed??
Somebody able to clear that up?

I think that maybe the website has not been updated? I have conversation with Esprit this week. Esprit tells me that the receivers are all full range. They were expecting/hoping for delivery this Wednesday of the receivers that have the firmware for some particulary requirement that helicopter pilots prefer. They did say that the only difference between the receivers being shipped now with the DC-16 and the new ones coming in, is the FW for the helicopters. Other than that, all are full range receivers.

Thanks Obake. I was thinking the same but would be nice if Esprit would update the receiver section of the Esprit web site. Must be more efficient than answering the same questions over the phone again and again

Think I will just order the DS-16 and get the receivers later on. Better for import taxes as well

Is it possible to review the recorded telemetry data on the TX (without requiring the use of a laptop)? No plotting/graphing required (although that would be cool), but it would be useful to be able to retrieve the last known position of a downed aircraft.

Ok .... before I cancel my order, I do not see where there is a 5 channel, full range outdoor RX. That is my primary interest for receiver to be honest.

What's wrong with the 6 channel ? If your concern is size or weight, remove the case and heat shrink them.

This will sound odd, especially for what we pay for this transmitter, but it is money.

Looking at price margins on 5 and 6 channels receivers, it appears that there may be a $20 difference between 5 and 6 channel receiver. As I buy a receiver for each plane I have, that could add up to $200 or more dollars if I buy 6 channel receivers when I only need 5 channel receivers. But even if I only put five, 6 channel receivers in 10 planes, that is still $100 dollars more I pay than if I buy five, 5 channel receivers.

But I still need to understand what this Satallite/RX thingy is. The Satellite is not on all RX. If it turns out that the Satellite increases in size too much the receiver and price, than I have to decide what path to take. My needs are simple, I am getting the DC-16 because I like a tray radio and MPX no longer supports my Evo 12 here in the U.S.

Looking at this current R5i, looks like satellite Rx has red wire exiting one end of RX. Is this removeable or permanent wire?

The wire that you're calling a 'red wire' in that photo is actually standard 3 core servo type - it's permanently attached to that Rx because it won't work without it.

Esprit said some time ago that that receiver (RSat 2) won't be available in the US. You will get standard receivers that also have the option of a single PPM sum output for use in applications that need it.
