New T580 ESC v3.0 available soon!

The board is green now... If red is the color of fire maybe green is the color of hope

Date on board is 2012-06-1?
The metal plate for the heat sink is missing now!
There will be 2 different v3.0 ESC; one for old gereration T580's and one for new/current T580's.
The v3.0 ESC for the old generation will have special stickers.
The ESC supports 30A like v2.0.

In Germany the boards will be available in 1-2 weeks.
New T580s are already equipped with these boards.

I have the first gen. t580...any chance I can replace this with the one I have..will it fly better or is there any noticable change, have had no problems with my esc's so far.

Hello, I hear from weinma we can replace FC 1 with that.He will bought one and build in. then we now if it is working.

As far as I know (I was told by the shop) ...
the Flight Controller Board v1.1 is compatible with the
v1.1 ESC (sure; it's delivered by Lotus this way), v2 ESC and v3 ESC.

I don't know which ESCs are compatible with the Flight Controller Board (FC) v1.0. Maybe only v1.0 ESCs ? :-}

I'll hope the v3 ESCs are available soon. I will post when I have news.

Meanwhile it would be great if the user 490905002 (I guess it's an LotusRC employee) can give us some details of the v2 to v3 tech changes and the FC compatibility of all ESCs... That would wipe away all speculations (and avoid crashed because of a wrong FC/ESC combination). What do you think LotusRC?

FC 1.0 (????-??-??) is only compatible with ESC 1.0?
FC 1.1 (2011-01-22) is only compatible with ESC 2.0
FC 2.0 (2012-??-??) is only compatible with ESC 3.0 (2012-06-1?)

If you have a FC v1.1 you have to use the ESC v2.0 !
Too bad that there is no official information directly from LotusRC to us customers :-(

I hope that I will get additional information regarding the date printed on the boards and also if the version number of the brand new FC is really v2.0

Hi all, Yesterday I talk to http://www.multicopter-shop.de/

He got the NEW V2.0 30A in Shop and SALE right now. But not exchange escs for Lotus Rc.

The V2.0 30A works with all OLD Style Fcs from Beginning on.

The NEW NEW green Escs without aluminum cooling Plate in Stock but not in Shop now.

The V3.0 Green ony for the 2012 Fcs, But I dont know how the 2012 Fc is marked ?

and all other they Say , like me, Junk all this Junk - I throw this all in a Cardbox and let it rott in the darkest corner in my Basement.

Give Lotus Rc a third Try. I will do too. The New GREEN Escs will have imprint as Follow:

TSY-T580-ESC-1
V3.0 3-5S 18A
2012-06-12

And can used with --- > T580-FC-V1.1 ( Date Stamp ) 2011-02-22

That means for a Fc T580 with V1.1 Imprint , we can use the New red Esc V2.0 ( with the red elox Cooling Plate and the New green Esc V3.0 without cooling Plate.

We can use , if the escs make it ! And not burned, No chance No, Now Lotus Rc have done it right.

In Germany the http://clever4buy.de/ Team are only selling the NEW T580 with the new Escs Green and good for 3S up to 5S Lipos.
They have only two T580 in Sale ( TODAY ) with the V2 Escs http://www.multicopter-shop.de/copte...ucksensor.html

When these are SOLD Out --- then only the new Version with V3 Green escs are in Sale.

All Clear ? Not for me, because I will see first the new V3 Esc flying, and a lot of Lipos before I click the Button.

From PersonaI experience, i know the v1.1 FC compatability with the 2.0 ESC is not sopposed to work together. i have a 1.1 FC board that came with the v1.1 ESCs and after getting upgraded to the v2.0 ESCs the gain settings in the v1.1 FC do not work well with the new power/response that the v2.0 ESCs deliver.

This makes the quad have extreme wobble i have never had. There is a reasion they sent out v1.1 FC boards with the new ESCs to people. not becuase you might be thinking they physically updated the board...but its because they flashed new updated firmware to the 1.1 FC to work well with the new ESCs. Same 1.1 board, updated firmware. If there was no need to adjust anything, they would not have released a FC with the launch of the new ESCs (2.0). No need to replace a FC that isnt really broken, but in this case Lotus has to...no way around.the firmware needs to be updated. I have even read on sites offering the 2.0 ESC stating "Not compatible with old FC!".

This is pretty understandable. example: Think of any user programmable FC out there (Naza,KK,Quadrino,Multiwii). You get all your gains dialed in and she's stable. now you upgrade your ESC's,motors, or props and you find out shes not as stable anymore and need to go adjust the FC on the PC.

Same go's here....Lotus cant just swap out major components, make them better, smoother, faster and just expect the FC Gains, etc to work good. But being that the FC isnt user programable they have to update the FC and physically sell them as a pair. no mix and match.

Luckly i upgraded my T580P+ to a Naza setup and dont have to invest $ in a FC that i already physically have in my part box, and would basicly be paying BIG for a software tweak. Thats like if DJI started charging you for every Firmware update. LMAO......exactly.....rediclious.....

All versions of the FC were in support of V1.0, V2.0, V3.0 of the ESC.

Hi all, thats what you say. But the T580 users around the World nows it better. Sorry , but Multicopter Dude ist 100% right. I think nothing is changed in and at the Escs. Maybe only colour of coating of Board ???
First saying is Good for up to 5S Lipos and printed 30 Ampere on , and then saying this is wrong , Bad very bad.
