@Eric,
oops, sorry forgot to say, I use 1/16th" inch birch ply, or sometimes 3/32nd"-1/8th" liteply (the birch/balsa plywood), I have used 316 stainless tig welding wire to epoxy to the template, steel wire, copper wire, all about a 1/16th" thick, they all work equally well, I recommend no smaller diameter than 1/16th" though.

Thanks Joe,
I have cut foam in the past and have used Formica or similar cabinet top materials but at the moment I dont have the shop tools to deal with the materials.
I suppose veneer or similar light ply would work, just looking for inexpensive and easy to work with template materials.

Nice work on the little A-6.

veneer or liteply is great to use, I have also used 1/64th" birch ply and laminated it to balsa sheet to make my own liteply when I couldnt find any.

ok her she is,
all the major components are built, still need to do some minor sanding on the intake mouths to shape them out but its basically ready to be spackled. again all the parts are just stacked up in the pics not glued together yet, test fit the fan and all is perfecto so far. after spackleing and sanding I will assemble the parts and install the power components
after assembly I will seal everything with a couple coats of WBPU, then maiden it before painting. Sat, mabey Sun...or I might wait and let Walt catch up some
oh by the way, I did weigh it...I came out at 3oz's on the nose for total airframe weight... probably add a 1/4oz more to glue it together if that, so I am very happy with it, should wind up to be 8 1/2 - 9 1/2oz's flying weight...OOoooooYeah..

hey Walt,
just getting everything glued together and the "make it go stuff" put in, all thats left is adding the servo linkages, will do that tonight after dinner, hopefully see how she flies tomorrow sometime. here are some pics of the completed Intruder minus the paintjob

ps before sealing and painting I will do a little more spackleing and sanding to clean up a few areas and do some last bit fitting to the canopy.
