Those dang DJI props caused a CRASH AGAIN, I should have known better AGAIN ! ! !

So I 've already had two crashes on my DJI F550 from the props breaking and you would thought I had learned to never use them again. but NOOOOOOOOOO, not me.

I blame those crashes on the old style thin diameter hubs and my F550 being loaded up with weight.

I got a new F450 a few weeks ago with the NEW thicker 16mm diameter hubs and I'm flying 3s and only have my FPV gear on so I'm pretty light at 3lb 4oz.

Didn't have time to get new props before coming to Mexico plus I would have thought the new props would be ok.

I've ran some videos (which are uploading) but when I crashed I had the ContourGPS in photo mode to get some aerial photos of the owners house.

It's very windy here on the beach and the F450 was blowing around like crazy.

I can't believe a prop brokje and I dropped about 75 feet into the sand. Luckily only one arm broke but I brought some from home so I can fly again.
I don't have extra props so I'm going to have to use the 8" ones.
I hope 3s and 8" will work until tomorrow.
I attached two water buoys to the arms just in case I went into the water. Thank god that didn't happen in the salty ocean.

Man, I'm glad we are the only ones on the beach and I wasn't over concrete.
I would have thought the DJI stock prop would have been solved by now from all the crashes everyone has had using them.

After I get back to the states it's only Graupners or others from now on. I'll use the DJI props as stir sticks for painting.

I wish I had it in video mode, it was a spectacular crash.

Here's a few photos, it was recording a photo every 3 seconds, I really wish it was in video mode. Only one photo was taken falling out of the sky.

I've been using 9" Gemfans on mine with good success so far. I had to drill the hole in the hub to 8mm. Then I used luck nuts with teeth to hold them in place. No slipping, they're usually fairly well balanced and none have broken on me so far. Graupners are great too, just a little hard to find and pricey.

I'm used to the 10" Graupners and the hole is the right diameter.
I just need to order a bunch of them and never use a DJI prop again.

it really is unbelievable that after so many crashes from random exploding props in flight that DJI would not have fixed this issue yet. I have not and will not ever fly with stock props. Graupners all the way....

I ordered some Graupners last night from Spain so they'll be here in a few weeks.
Hopefully these 8" stock props on my 3s battery will be ok for a few flights until the 10" ones get here.

I am still using the original 10in props. Flying aggressive and up to 150' up with FPV gear and a GoPro on board. Lucky I guess.

I did lose a prop once but it was 2 seconds after I flipped it over... The ground cracked that one.

I know, me of all people should have known.
It flies like crap on the 8" props with 3s.

I guess I just have to wait a few weeks for the Graupners to come in.
I have some old 10" props left from my F550 if I just want to test equipment out hovering a foot from the ground.

you know, when I first heard about prop breakage, I went to 8 " prop until i could find another safer prop. I've settled on zingers and never looked back. they are bit more fragile to crashes and bit more maintenance to keep them balanced, but they don't break in air like these. I can see why apc uses such heavy hub. I love my wooden props.

I don't have a prop reamer so I'm ok with the 10" Graupners.
I've never crashed with them on my F550 since I'm only hovering around.
I just seem to crash with the stock props.

Here's the POS that took me out.
18 flights on the quad until the prop broke, and my F550 was around the same when two of those props broke.

Do they fit the dji motors?
