LiFe battery question for TH9X

I got 2 1500mah LiFe batteries for my TH9X that I reflashed to er9x firmware. I would like to know if it is OK to drain them almost all the way.

I have my voltage alarm set at 8.5v in the radio and when I charge the batteries I put back about 1400mah.

Now, I know you are supposed to discharge LiPo batteries only 80%, is this the same thing for LiFe batteries?

Also, it is difficult to tell how discharged LiFe batteries are because they keep their voltage constant until the very end, when it dives significantly.

Everything it's ok how you use this battery.
80% does not apply to LiFePo4.
8.5V means 2.8V per cell, which is save for LiFe, they can go down to 2V without issues.

Excellent, thank you. Will keep this in mind and not worry about wrecking my batteries this way.

From looking at discharge curves it seems to me that if you go much below 9.3v (3.1v/cell) you are on a very rapid drop towards exhaustion. I would have thought that you would want your warning at about that point. The alarm is not so much about wrecking batteries as avoiding loss of control.

Like said the discharge curve deepens sharply at the end. Always set the alarm so that you have time to safely land no matter what the situation is.
