We knew it anyway, but Joss Weden has just turned into an insane babbling idiot, and that makes it pretty much official that the Firefly franchise is a gonner, just like Joss Whedon is.

No more coherence is to be expected from Mr. Whedon.

He's hollywood ... do you really expect anything rational out of there? I like Joss Whedon... I really do. He's created strong characters that highlight Libertarian ideals ... he just doesn't realize the irony in it.

But no biggie. I'll watch his next movie or his next TV show ... and add to his wealth, that he gained through captialist means.

Seems off from the narrative of Serenity. i was watching the panel video from Comic-Con but stepped out to watch Spidey. Have to go back and review to see if there was context or further to the story

Some storylines run their course and what do you have left? the season finale /movie was epic!!What could they ever do to top that?2 main characters irretrievably dead/killed off...the Doctor finally gets the girl ,while his "crazy" sister gets her sanity/innocence back...the only storyline not really resolved and never would be was the unrequitted romance between the capt and the companion...

I know right ... fighting for independence from a centralized government ... personal responsibility .... self reliance ... those were the corner stones ... a far cry from Socialism.

Heck, the financial mechanism that allows Whedon and everyone else in Hollywood to make films is Captialism ....

Given the strong arming by the entertainment bundling industry on providers right now, I'd say they are the enemy of the people. Billions if dollars in increases forced on Direct and Dish only to be passed on to us. Rebel against the 150 channels of Shark vac commercials and demand ala carte choice. Stop paying for 97% garbage to consume 3% of what's worth watching

That whole crew was a microsim of libertarianism.

He's a great director but it's crystal clear he has not put a lot of thought into his political ideals, which on film eloquently exemplify some portions of a pretty strong libertarian ideal, but in his rantings he diametrically opposes.

I am not so sure he is all in yet. Regardless, Adam Baldwin is the polar opposite of a liberal

It's particularly strong in Serenity, where the girl in class in the opening scene observes those darned folks who won't go along with the ruling powers don't like them for one simple reason...they meddle in everything to suit themselves. The agent pursuing them throughout the film is a metaphor for the folks who do the dirty work so those farther removed can 'not think of it that way', even as they'll refuse to not support coercion, after all everyone knows that regardless of how you 'like to look at it', having someone else willing to do the dirty work is the only reason their methods work.

It is what it is.

Mal's whole personality of individualism reeks of libertarianism ... the whole idea of legalized prostitution is also libertarian ... the whole "Blue Sun" thread highlights to dangers of giant corporations in bed with governments, another very Libertarian talking point.
