Complete a Project in 2014 Build Off - R.C. Veron Bee Bug original size

Third time a charm!

This is now the third build off this model has been entered in and I am sure I can do it this time.
Having been busy with that thing we call "making a living" I have had little or no time to get back into finishing the Bee Bug, but I am sure that over the course of this year it will be completed.

Ok so finally I have started to put the Bee bug together.
I have decided to keep all dimensions the same as the original control line version.

For power I am going to use electric (still to decide what size as I have a few to chose from) with aileron and elevator control.

Here are a couple of pictures of the start I have made.

Lionel

Subscribed. I wanted to build a bee bug when I was flying control liners way back when. It will be great to see how it goes when free of tether!

Its going to be real fun to fly, my brother wants me to put a Tee Dee .049 in it like the control line version we had, I think that would just be way over board

I hope it does not act like a C/L model when free from a tether!!!! but at least give me some sort of control.

Tonight i did a little more on the wing.

I finished off the leading edge, trailing edge in front of the ailerons was installed, wing tips glued on and wing sanded.
Then I cut the ailerons out of the wing, now all I need to do is fill the ailerons leading edge with wood and sand them.

Starting to take shape but its a "as I go I modify" type build!

Here are some pictures of the progress.

So the build continues......................................... I have found the box where the wing was packed away and now to tidy the work bench and start making an aeroplane that flies!

I have decided on a power source and it is going to be the Turnigy C1822-2100 motor, should be enough power for the model.

Lionel.

Go to it Lionel; I am looking forward to seeing the result; I had two Bee Bugs back in the day, one with the recommended E.D. Bee, which was - OK, and one with a Frog 150 which was terrific, although it took a bit of keeping up with!

Started again on the Bee Bug

Ok, now that work life has got a little less hectic, I decided I MUST finish the Bee Bug off.

I got all the pieces out and guess what............................ one aileron is missing, and for the life of me I cannot find it. Only thing to do is make a new one, so I found a piece of scrap wood and sanded it down to match.

Now I am back to where I was, um???? 2 years ago

As the build continues I will take photos.

IT WILL BE FINISHED!!!!!!!!

Lionel.
