The bottom dihedral brace is made to be the strongest. It was already very close to 6mm so I just used two rods in the slot and cut the slot for another piece of 6mm strip in the spars. I glued that in with epoxy. Once it sets up I can sheet the center.

This is coming along really nice. I appreciate how you are documenting the dihedral change. Years ago, when carbon was just to hard to come by, I remember cutting new braces out of lite ply and sanding a little at a time till I was certain that it all fit properly. Much easier nowadays!!

Now the top of the wing is sheeted.

The directions say not to shape the leading edge until the wing has been fit to the fuse.

I have been looking at the ailerons. I may just use the trailing edge, after it is cut off. It looks a bit small. I don't have any aileron stock handy so a trip to the hobby store is in order. On other kits I have done in the past, they had you glue a piece of spruce to the hinge face for reinforcement. I may do that. I thought about using a piece of 6mm CF strip, but it would be hard to cut the slit for CA hinges. Robart style would work.

Time to start on the fuse.

There was no science behind my aileron choice, I used what I have. A 36" piece of aileron stock, cut in half gave me 18" barn door ailerons. Using a caliper I cut the trailing edge off where it would be the same thickness as the aileron stock. This still left plenty of wood for strength.

Mark the two pieces for hinging. I will be using CA hinges. A hinge slotting blade makes quick work of all those slots.

After cutting all the slots, the leading edge of the aileron needs to be shaped to a "V".

Now we have one complete aileron. Just need one more......

Barn, I am glad to see you doing one. I am about to start building my 3rd Senior Kadet. I will be scratch building mine. Let me know what your power plant will be. I look forward to watching you build yours.

Now a place to mount our aileron servo. I use pins to nail it all together, then thin CA, then cut the pins off. I boxed the top of the servo in to have a place to seal the covering to.

Now the wing is done.

Moving on to the fuse. Lay the fuse section of the plan out. You will have to cut one part off the sheet and tape it together to have the full fuse plan. Iron it out, cover it with protector(protector works better than wax paper), and follow the instructions. It builds right over top of the plan. Take note: some of the sticks are spruce and some are balsa, look at the plan closely. Put all your longest sticks in first. Use pins to hold it down. It looks like a daunting task, but it goes quickly and is a lot of fun.

The wood block on the front and other gussets just come printed on a plank. You get to get to cut them out by hand.

It will be a tail dragger. I don't like nose gear.

I still put the triangles in the sides where LG would go. Using what I have laying around, a set of gear from a Four-Star 60 will fit perfect. I will just glue a plywood floor in the forward part of the fuse bottom.

One side finished......

Now with one side built, pull out the pins, cover that side with protector, and build the next side right over top of the first. This assures the two sides are the same.

Down thrust is built into the firewall. If any right thrust is needed I will shim the motor mounts. The plan says no right thrust is needed.
