Bit low on cash at the moment! And it seems like the KK2 board + delrin case just will not fit on the frame that's coming my way. It would block the power-distribution pads and make it impossible to hook up the wires. Maybe if I order another KK2 board!

I don't get it.
You are protecting board but not protecting the most sensitive it part - LCD display.
How so?

Ask everyone who has bought one. My main concern when designing the case was to protect the board as much as possible from crash damage. Sure, there is always a chance that the board could get damaged in a crash, but being in an enclosure limits the type of damage that can happen. A destroyed center frame with a mounted board can easily result in broken pc boards or broken traces. This would protect the board from such damage. Like anything with an LCD, it still remains vulnerable, but in this case, it would take a direct impact by a stick, or other object to damage the LCD. Any prevention is better than nothing.

Make any more sense?

It's easy to make acrylic window for display - just cut it with laser and glue over your case.

that is why board should be mounted on plastic stands - stands will break faster than board and the board will survive

Hello Chris,
Can you please add another hole to the top of the case for the built in voltage alarm.
Thank You,

Case Review

So I ordered one of these cases and I would have to say this is going to definitely save me a$$ in any type of crash i may be in!!

Very well built and strong. I like how the bolts are black to match the case...not that it is neccessary....but its nice for those who like the "clean" build look.

The only thing I would say needs to be changed is the slots where the servo leads go in...both on the motor and rx....they were ever so slightly too small and i had to cut away some material in order to allow me to slide those in easily. I used an exacto knive and just a few scrapes back and forth did the job...this could also be done with some course sand paper too I bet...I took the material away from outer edge since the inner edge was already very thin...

But overall this is a very well built product and for the price, you cannot beat it!! I should also mention that I received my case very promptly!!

So thank you Chris!! can't wait to see what you come up with next.

What is the distance between the screw lugs? If it was the same as the hole pattern of the board itself, it would be useful for mounting on frames designed for boards that mounts diagonally, like Q450 from HobbyKing.

Fred,

The distance across to the screw centers are 2.3" exactly.

What is the distance diagonally for the Q450 frames?
