Well, got Hans off on the plane, he will be home in 20 hours. Grueling. He looked sharp in the flight suit that Darrell Stubbs gave him.
It always takes me a couple of days to get back in the flow, jet lag from the drive I assume. But I am starting to work on the flak damage caused by the flying tents. Looks like it was hit by a 57mm. A little rougher than I first thought. It hit the front end of the plane and broke the glass on the nose, starboard side. There was some damage also when Nut was "s"ing to bleed off speed to avoid that dreaded area off the end of the runway. The starboard ply beam delaminated and she lost that gear going down on its side. Scrapped up one jet nacelle pretty bad, skid marks on the fuse. I'll do it right this time so it won't happen again. It will take a little while to get back where I was but the work has started and we will dress this puppy up.
I'll show some pics later.
One of the neat things about these events is the people you meet. Had a great discussion with a man that was a traffic controller at Da Nang and was involved with the gunships, Stinger included. One thing he told me, they would use the jets on takeoff due to all the weight of the ammo. Then they would haul ass to the AO, loiter and do their thing, and then haul ass back to base. Hauling ass was 140 knots!!!!! Gotta love it.

If it is Ace's Flanker - I got both stills and a little video. The video ain't too bad either!! LOL!!

I'm gonna post a couple of pic's of Wade's A-26 in here cause I know he subscribes to this thread. When I was "shooting" the pics he was saying as how most all of the photos he has of it have no contrast and the plane doesn't look good.

Hope these are good enough to pass the litmus test!! LOL!!











These turned out about as well as any I have ever taken. What "real" aircraft photographers go for - especially on "prop" driven aircraft is to "stop" the plane in flight, have the DOF (depth of field) blurry with motion and the props blurred in a perfect circle. With full size planes moving "slower" that is not nearly as hard as it is to accomplish the same thing with a fractional size model!!! LOL!!

I made it home save, too. (0230pm). The flight suit from Darrel is perfect!! Not too hot, not too cold. Security people asked me about AMA in Nashville, Atlanta and Amsterdam, because of my membership card on the flying suit. I had my money, passport, eyeglasses and all the travel dokuments inside the suit and was handled with respect.

I have a present for you on video and will upload it tomorrow. It's not an airplane video, it's something coming from my heart for John and his wife Brenda and for all the nice people I met at Ace In The Hole 2012, who made it to Vegas and back home again, too.

I have posted the few photos I had - but have NOT processed the video. I have looked at it though. It is about a minute and a half (after editing) and all flight. I think you are doing vertical climbs with steep turns at the top. Short pattern. I will process it and post it in the AIH thread later today.
