might as well go with bigger motors since you need nose weight anyhow. those seem like awefully small motors for those huge props

c/n you think one of those props would work on the F8F ? do they have bigger ones J?. i think it wise to fly it first and then Paint ,that is the one really thing about electric power ...you dont have to fuel proof them ...gives you a chance to get the bugs out and learn how to fly it ,maybe scratch it up a little then do a sweet finish .

If you are going to switch motors you might want to consider Hacker A50-16L. I'm using those on this CL-415 and am swinging 15.5 X 12 4 blade.

Yeah, we'll see how it does and then go from there Nut.

AS,
They make bigger props, you might not like the dollars though. These were $81 each plus shipping.
I normally like to fly first, paint later but I have no where to fly this monster or the A-1. Vegas has a nice tarmac runway.
The A-1 has the FMS electric rotating retracts, not sure how they will hold up, although they did fine in my taxi tests.

I will consider those, thanks Herman.

J, decided that we're gonna leave out tomorrow. Wanna to get to the backside of St. Louis tomorrow afternoon. Oklahoma city is just under 1000 miles for us and this will break up that leg of the trip. We'll be in touch on monday.

John,
Hope you can make it.

Dave,
Primer only, no stickers, stealth mode.

That's a good move Woody. St Louis is about 8 hr from OK City. We'll leave around 6:00am Monday, should put us in about 6:00 pm. Would like to get to the other side of OK City so we don't fight inbound traffic Tuesday morning. You guys can sleep in a bit Monday morning.

OK, the first 5000 miles are behind me after 20 hours. (HAJ, AMS, DTW, BNA)
John picked me up at the airport in Nashville at 03:00 pm, just perfect in time.
We'll start loading the truck and trailer after breakfast.

That's right. I haven't packed a thing yet! Waiting for my expert packer to arrive and he is finally here.
As for the Stinger, of course it isn't done but we have to get it to fly before the fun really starts. Detailing and paint is always the most fun part of the build for me.
It still needs the wing saddle reworked, many cosmetic blemishes fixed and then all the extra details. I have a couple of hundred e-mails from my tech advisor just full of stuff to stick on this airplane and am really looking forward to it. It should take till close to Xmas to finish.
So we start packing today. Only taking 6 airplanes but the trailer and truck will be FULL.
Traveling out to Ace in the Hole in fabulous Las Vegas will be the big Skyray, A-1 Skyraider, Me-329, AC-119K, veteran campaigner Me-262, and Hans F-16 profile that he just flies the snot out of. I keep it here ready to go for his visits.
So we will be packing all day today and then leaving at 6:00am tomorrow to meet Woody and Craig in OK City tomorrow evening.
I'm not comfortable taking two planes that need a maiden but I can't maiden them here at my grass field so that's the cards we're dealt (Las Vegas term).
Just about time for breakfast and then a packing marathon!
