I use a hair dryer.
I don't think that it's bad at all. Our planes are representations. Very few are built to be true scale aircraft. I like any approach that is not a painted canopy!

I have moved to plunge molding on my last few planes and can knock out a canopy in a couple of hours. You can watch it if you want:

Hello,

Thanks for your interest. I have been in holidays during 3 weeks, and after my come back, i haven't got too much time to continue this build. Anyway, i made some progress, and the airplane is almost finished.

I have carved the foam for the battery pack location. I have installed a free flight prop with a big cone that fits well to the airplane. The thrust should be enough. Should i paint the cone in red?

The last thing to do is to finish the canopy. Here how it looks for now (the canopy is not glued, but only posed on the fuselage).

I hope to fly the plane soon.

Maiden Flight

At last! I got an opportunity to fly it yesterday.
The CG seems ok. The only problem i noticed is that the plane dives, which means that i should add some up thrust to the motor mounting.

I was obliged to pull on the elevator in order to keep the plane at 0.
Apart from that, this gee bee seems very stable and able to perform acrobatics. It looks great in the air!

As the motor is not easily accessible, it will be difficult to change the angle of the motor.
I have programmed a mix throttle to elevator, and i will see if that can fix the problem.

Hi indoor!

Are you sure it's the motormount and not the wing incidence that makes the plane dive? (I suppose you've made glide-test...?).
Just a fought for share!

:-)

Hi Chrizz!
Thanks for the input.

I haven't tried a glide test with the plane completely assembled, but if i do remember well, i made a glide test at the beginning when there was not the landing gears and the electronics.

Anyway, Potensky recommends a 5 up angle for the motor. There must be a reason...The motor is at 0 or maybe -1 (stupid am i)...
