alright, so i think I have put together a full replacement system in case the motors end up not fitting the fans that I want to get. I'll be getting these motors http://www.hobbypartz.com/75m93-ducted-2210-3800.html with http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...inch_64mm.html these fans and a couple 40 amp ESCs to run on 3S.

Yeah I looked at it. I think I've landed on this little combo, looks like I should be able to hook it right up to the 30 amp ESC's just fine http://www.hobbypartz.com/88e-adf64-300l-kv4300.html

3C3800 GensAce Does Fit!
Ran up the stock equipment again today....each motor draws about 28 amps/305 watts at WOT. Simulated a flight working throttle for taxi/WOT for take off and varying between 2/3 and half power for about 4 minutes. "landed" when battery cell voltages reached about 3.5 volts. ESC's got very warm, bordering on HOT. May replace them with 40 amp Dynam/Detrum units. later. Too darn cold and windy here for a maiden!!
UpDate: Replaced 3200mAh, used 84% of Battery...oooops! As you know, most all size of battery have to be moved forward to achieve new CG of 200mm. For the GensAce 3800, I only had to dig out about 1.25 inches of foam at the front of the compartment. Width was fine, as is. Also added small plywood piece for other end of battery and the velcro hold down strap. All glued in place with Gorilla Glue (the newer, faster dry-clear, but dries white type) Balances perfectly at 200mm.

Went to the field today and got a few flights in. First two went real nice. Nice flight nice landings. Third flight disaster struck. Upon landing I did a bounce and when it came back down the wings weren't level. Left engine hit the runway and shattered the foam nacelle and destroyed the impeller and cracked the housing. So will need to replace those.
Ming; Can these parts be ordered? Some glue will fix the foam pieces but if I can get a new one would rather do that. The fan and shroud are beyond repair. At least my decal survived! Hawaiian |

Looks like it is not a good week for the B777
I have damaged my airliner on a second attempted take of, was in the air for a second or two like previous but came down, it has suffered a damaged nacelle and broken plastic and cracked the fuselage a couple of inches back from the wing and now it's a little out of shape and the front strut lean's back about 30* and is lose in the foam This happened xmas morning, not a good start to the day Mike |
