If your hand launching this 777 you may want to look into a "High Start" to give you a boost. Some non powered electric gliders use this and you could launch this plane with no power and once it reaches the end of the high start and the high start has let go of your plane just fire up the power and away you go.

Just a thought I had.

If you are going to fly from grass (not a cricket pitch) you will need to put bigger wheels on, the ones on there are way to small for this, 2'' or bigger is needed

No maiden today--winds up to 45kph and similar during the week---Saturday is looking good though

I have moved the battery back an 1'' or so, to be expected with the extra weight of the larger edf's, all up with the battery 4lb 1 oz, I put 2 55amp speedies on there from my spares box, ( they are for an a380 kit build) I will replace them with some 45 amp ones with my next order from HK

Winds here are in the 25-30 mph range with gust up to 40 mph and forecast to stay that way through next week. Looks like flying will be on hold for a bit. And my last day of work for the year is Thursday . Was hoping to get a bunch of flying in.

How did you hook up the front wheel to the servo on the 787? May just do a quick build on it with no fancy paint or anything. Thinking of replacing the ailerons and elevators with balsa ones.

I am not sure what happen on your 777, but please check you landing gear and how many amps to draw from the battery. I can let you know the same power system(64mmEDF + motor + ESC) are working very successfully on another 8 to 10 PNP project. One thing I can agree is the small wheel(it limited by this 1.35 meter scale airliner) is not suitable to take of from rough grass. I saw you compare my 777 to another 320 on same runway, please let me know what is the wingspan and power system to use on that 320. After I check your video, I suggest you set the CG little bit forward(middle of the root) to see is it make any improvment during take off. You are more than welcome to contact me if you have any problem on you 777, because all of the Windrider plane ower is my VIP.

Mike IS NOT using your stock power system in the 777! There is much that is unknown. What is obvious, not enough ground speed can be obtained for ROG , and the plane appears to be a bit tail heavy.

Watched your video. The A320 did not seem much faster than the 777 at liftoff and it flew. That was with the 70mm fans too? Bama may be right. May be tail heavy. I'd recheck the balance.
Anybody deal with NitroPlanes? Thinking of ordering a Aerosky Extra 330 but would like to know if there are reputable.
Winds forecast to die down here around Friday so hopefully may be able to get some flight time in.

I also have an A320..powered by E-Flite Delta V's with 3200kv inrunners and a 4S4500 Nano. Remarkable thrust and speed. The A320 may have less weight per sq in of wing than his non-stock 777. If I remember correctly, Mike is running CS10 rotors?? They require motors which can produce a lot of torque and be able to turn that rotor to at least 40K in order to produce the same amount of thrust of a good 5 or 6 blade rotor.

Regarding NitroPlanes......I've bought quite a few planes from them...never had a problem!

Thanks Bama. Figured since I was a good boy this year I may get a Xmas gift for myself. Will call them tomorrow. Hope I can get it shipped here in time for xmas. Tried ordering online but see they only ship to Hawaii by USPS and they dont specify how. Priority or First class? That may never make it. Wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks for UPS or FedEx 2nd day air.
Hope Limo gets his 777 figured out. It's a pretty cool plane to play with.
