RC Flight schools????

I happened across an ad for an RC training school and thought that might be a good idea for a family vacation with me and my son attending a training school.

The whole family like the beach, does anyone know of a good flight school near a beach (if there is a casino near by that would be great as well ).

Recommend me a good one! Thanks.

Hello,

I stumbled on your post...I just started a flight school in sunny Tampa Florida. We're still 80F in the daytime or at least mid 70's. Here is a link I use on Craigslist, was thinking about paying for advertising ect on a couple of good RC sites.

Sincerely,

Michael/Tampa

Thank you. I'm out of time for something like this this year, but I definitely have it on the radar for out first vacation next year.

Your post really took me back in time. I'm really surprised that Flight Training schools still exist. They were a great idea 10 years ago when it really took a long time to learn how to fly, but technology has changed everything. Electric planes eliminate a whole lot of the learning curve, which was how to configure and tune the engines and fuel systems. There's a lot to learn, but until you do, you can pretty much just plug them in and they work. Foam planes have made a huge difference too, since they can be smaller and much more crash resistant than the .40 sized trainers we used to have. Lastly, simulators are huge learning tools. Now you can put someone on the simulator for a couple of hours, then put them on something like the Apprentice, and you really don't even have to buddy box it.

That's not to say it won't be a great vacation, and a great thing to do with your son. I think it will be great fun and you'll learn a lot. I would just make sure they are using modern technology. A lot of guys are still stuck in technology from 10 or more years ago.
