LiPo is more common (ie cheaper), and more powerful. LiFe is more stable and durable.

IMO, go lipo.

LiFe is popular as a reciever pack because of the voltage.

I've been wanting to ask too, too lazy to do research lol sorry...

is there a low voltage limit too in a liFe such as liPo (3.7)?

also are liFe better than nimh and nicad? how are they more reliable? is discharge rate ratings similar to lipo?

Li-fe safer as far as charging but Lipo's are typically cheaper and a little more unstable when charging and I think anything is better than a ni-cd pack to be honest

LiFe is a less volatile chemistry, compared to LiPo. The problem is, it weighs a lot more, compared to a LiPo.

To get the equivalent voltage of a 2s LiPo pack, for example, your LiFe pack is going to weigh a lot more.

If you want to learn more about batteries and chargers in general, check out just about any thread in the Batteries and Chargers forum:
http://www.rcgroups.com/batteries-and-chargers-129/

For some reason, they tuck it under the Aircraft forums, which I think is a great disservice to the rest of the community, since there are many forum users who don't fly, but would still benefit from the knowledge in that forum.

It is an excellent resource for battery and charger information. Among the best in the web that I have been able to find, imo.

This is so True.
Same can be said about Nimh, Nimh weighs about 60% more than Life.
