Larrikin was good yesterday.. A nice SW. We flew from the knoll for ages and the lift was solid. DS speed was no more than 120 but very nice. Brett has bought a Typhoon, not yet built, and hadn't yet flown a mouldie so I gave him the sticks with the Scratcho and the Wiz BPV. At first, he kept them miles away from the hill and had only short goes but as the day wore on he flew longer and closer! He was really blown away by moldie performance. He's a very experienced full size glider pilot by the way.

Just got in from Beechmont it was very light wind but had a good afternoon flying Big Blue which is a very old 3m glider.
met Andrew and a guy that lives just down from Tim who was flying a JW.Andrew was flying his vento most of the afternoon.
It was very relaxing, no DS.

Andrew, thanks again for your generosity, I really appreciated the flight time with your mouldies. Not only did I fly the Scratcho but the Wizard Compact as well. Had a ball!

Shane, it's a pity you couldn't make it. The wind wasn't strong enough for big DS but the front side was working a treat. You would have been tearing up the slope with aeros.

Brett

Looks like a westerly from Friday arvo and thru Saturday. Not big, but solid so I'll plan to go to Larrikin early Sat.

P.S. also, Larrikin Dave messaged me at 2:30 today to say he was going past, stopped at the Shorncliffe cliff and the wind was 15kts +, bang on, and lift going to waste but he had no plane. He was hoping I was free to bolt over there with planes but I was away and tied up with work, so we missed out. Looking at the weather data, it would have been smack on brilliant most of this arvo. But by the time I got home it was swinging north and not worth dragging my tired self over for.

The forecast has picked up a bit, and also Gerard has got a leave pass and is keen for a fly, so I'm gonna take the gamble and head for Larrikin in the morning. Hoping to be up there around 10am.

No good for Shorncliffe today, unless it changes radically from the forecast. What time did you get there? I left at about 5:30pm and it was still great.
