For the one person out there still interested in this project, I got roll control back. Pitch stability proved to be non-existent after all. I increased the power to the motors so I was able to lift up higher. 1 to 2 feet pitch is stable but above that it's out of ground effect and starts to pitch oscillate badly.

This oscillation was expected though so I currently have by best brain cell allocated to the solving the problem. As motivation I told him that he either solves the problem or gets destroyed with hot glue and solder fumes like all the rest.

I have roll control back in this video. You can't really see the pitch problem since I land when it starts.

How about renaming your topic to 'Whoops, my Harrier turned into an Osprey and it seems I didn't need to beg for money after all.'

Now THAT would get you views!

Still begging The Osprey is just to help convince someone to give me the 200$ I need to build the Harrier.

Much appreciated. Just thought of another way to solve the pitch problem that I am 99% sure will work and will provide longer flight times at the expense of some scale looks. It's a foamy so I'm not too worried if we deviate away from the scale look a little more.

Anyone know of a good place to get blue fan fold depron in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area? The changes I have in mind the the one that will definaely be pitch stable are rather drastic so a new build might be in order. Lowe's I guess stopped selling it I guess. All they have is that white expanded junk

I think the problem with Home Depot's and Lowe's is they only sell locale-appropriate insulation, being in LA there probably isn't a high demand for that type of foam. Have you tried seeing if they'd order you a package?

Lowe's in Burbank used to have it. Maybe they still do? I heard on RCgroups that Lowe's had recently stopped selling it so I assumed that's why this one near Long Beach didn't have it. I'll see if they can order some. Dollar Tree foam is a little weaker so I might go with the black stuff from staples if all else fails.

You can have it from me if you wash my car and mow my lawn a few times, can't reimburse travel expenses though.
I mean, 200$ is NOTHING. How come a young and healthy (I assume) guy like you isn't able to earn such a small amount of money over all these months?

Maybe they will donate some. What better advertisement could there be then to say the first RC fixed pitched Osprey was built with modelplanefoam. This whole begging thing doesn't seams to be the gold mine I thought it would be

Don't clean cars or mow lawn but maybe I can spit shine some RC planes at the local flying field for some change. 200$ isn't much but it's the difference between a foamy harrier and no harrier for now. Without getting into the life story thing I'll just say that I took some time to walk the earth like Caine in Kung Fu and will be back in action fairly shortly I think. So now is the time to get in on the sponsor offer. Soon I'll have to change this threads name to "Jump Jet Harrier - I had no sponsors so you all get squat"

Looks like Martha and her cronies are happy now that I have pitch problems.

Little does she know the pitch problem was expected, it's the initial stability I got near ground effect that wasn't. It's ok though, I still think she is hot. Lets be honest here, she's rich, blond and has street cred with here stay in jail. What's not to love.

Had to steal Luigi's wheels. On the bright side though the Osprino will be rolling on some nice rims now.

I think I found the reason for the drifting in the last video. Looks like the hot glue holding the motors in place got a little soft allowing the motors to move around during flight.
