Planning a Penguin build and have question for you guys using APM 2.5 with antenna tracking, are you using the 3dr radio to GS or is there a way to tap into the APM GPS to an osd that sends the gps data through the video or audio? Hate to run the extra radio and figure out how to get the additional range to match the video and uhf...

Thx

Is there enough clearance for a 10 inch prop on this plane?

There is if you lift the motor about 6-7mm (1/4in). I have done it on my Penguin, swinging a xoar 10x6 with a hacker A30 16L 800kv on 4 to 5 cells

That's one of the setbacks of the APM systems. AT is all done through your telemetry radios and cannot be encoded into the video/audio streams like RVOSD and Eagle Tree.

Just measured mine, with a 10" prop I have just under 1/8" clearance with the tail boom. This is without lifting the motor.

Be my guest! I have also recently done a 10" Multirotor prop test which can be found on my Wiki here:

10" Quad Props

Use anything you like!

Paint prep

I like to paint but I've never done styrofoam. What do you guys use for paint prep on stryrofoam?

I found a paint that works good on the canopy gray foam. I used Krylon Plastic in flat black and turned out nice and I can take the canopy on and off without it rubbing off like the stock paint.
