So whats the general concept here, I am not going to double post build pictures, so maybe we post them on the other thread since this one is a "discussion" ????

Staples have better quality tape which doesnt turn yellow with age :-)

I checked my local hobby shop and couldn't find the CF or the Foam Glue.

Can you listed the dimension or part number of CF you used?

I need to get this plane in the air as I am just doing silly stuff now like my pitot tube cover.

I'll post all construction pix on the other thread lets keep this for discussion and other technical stuf on the other thread before it all becomes big mess. :-)

The RMRC cable is like a servo connector only with 4 wires. If you have a DF13, Molex or other type small configuration connector, it won't work. When I have this problem, I cut the OEM cable close to OSD end and splice 4 wires (24AWG or spare servo wire, twisted) for the exact length I need. Never had a problem. Just make sure you solder joints are lapped and shrink sleeve each one individually. Then shrink sleeve the whole joint bundle. It doesn't hurt to add a ferrite ring to help with conducted emissions. Place it as close as possible to the GPS and wrap as many turns as possible. The newer GPS's have pretty good EMI filtering. You can easily test by measuring cold or warm start lock time with and without your camera and VTx operating.

In worse case scenario I cut the wires (MAKE SURE YOU NUMBER THEM ON BOTH CUT ENDS !!!!) I had 5 wires there so I just resoldered extension and all is good.
Ferrite ring wont hurt anything and you want it as close to GPS as possible ( another reason to extend wires is to have at least 5 loops on ferrite)

If you are using the stock ET equipment and haven't modified any of the plugs, that extension cable works just fine. The GPS unit already has a ring built into it, but adding another couldn't hurt.
