Middle Wallop is a village in the civil parish of Nether Wallop in Hampshire, England, on the A343 road. The village has a public house, The George Inn, a petrol station as well as The Wallops Parish Hall.
Together the villages of Over Wallop, Middle Wallop and Nether Wallop are known as the Wallops and run in a line roughly North to South following the line of the Wallop Brook, which has its source in Over Wallop. To the East of the villages the area is dominated by the Middle Wallop airfield, home to the Army Air Corps, a branch of the British Army.

The scores after 3 rounds are in.

Conditions were really tricky today with a wind of ~20mph blowing from A to B making the return leg very slow. Leg scores reflect this with a best of the day being 43.

Kicking myself for flying too long in duration in round 3 and giving the round win to Luc.

One more round to fly tomorrow

I feel ya! Those strong winds do pose a challenge. We face similar in SD all the time, and oh how slow those last legs are... Looking forward to seeing day 2.

More wind today but the models were faster. I did a 45 with a big cut at B and ~4 seconds spare but the lift wasn't there for me and limited, landed 38 seconds early but it didn't matter as I'd done enough yesterday to take the win

Unfortionately i arrived late on day one due to work early in the morning and the second day i could not fly at all due to being on the way to Alicante. It's not great but then neither was the weather. When Steve mentiones wind it would be better to say ''gale force winds''.

In my mind we need to reduce the wind speed at which rounds / events get cancelled. I know it is possible to fly in even more wind but really it doesn't bare any relevance to normal competition and what anybody normally practices in. Therefore all the carefull prep work that has done before becomes useless and even team selections if this was an EC or WC event don't mean much in these conditions. It is maybe something we need to think about now before such an event happens. I know how dissapointed i was about the Kiev experiance and if there had been so much wind as day one of Middle Wallop i would have hoped that this day would have been cancelled untill the wind speed had reduced to more sensible levels. That way you may miss a couple of days of flying at such an event but there should still be plenty left. According to Alan this is currently not the case?!

Sorry for the losses the Belgians had during this weekend and i hope they know how much their presence was valued. It was great to see Willy's home built F5B model despite it's un-timely demise. Hope the wing is still useable. Please come again next year and bring some French pilots!

Hope to make it out to Heist and/or the Netherlands next year and that the weather is much better for all these events.

Oh and almost forgot.

A big thanks to Alan for again running this event and to Tony and Jim for coming out to sit at the bases.
