My 4 Nano 260s showed up today. Now I can fly it a little more. My adapter/splitter came too so now I can use my regular charger and charge 4 batts. in about 6min. Nice!

So that's a 10C charge rate? I see that's how some batts are spec'd now. That's amazing.

kuczy, cycle the lipo's at least 5 times at 1C before using them. I have found this to be the best thing for nano techs. Using them straight out the box seems to puff them and shorten their life etc.

I am using them in the Mig and it provides a nice flight time.

3.65A on the bench is about right. Out of the Mig it draws 3.55A. )

I tried one then discharged the rest then recharged them at 3amps I'll bump it up to 6amps after a few cycles.

This plane is really just a distraction from my bigger stuff. 4 Nanos at $4ea aren't breaking the bank when 1 battery for a .50 size plane cost me $80+. If I loose one it won't be the end of the world. I've had the UM Q, SU, P-51, UMX Beast and MQX. I've used Nanos, Hyps, TPs and stockers before and charged them at a high rate after a couple of cycles with no issues.

Surely you don't mean to charge at 260mAh battery at 6 amps! That's a 23C charge rate! Fire!

Maybe he meant .3A and .6A...? I was thinking the same thing I usually charge my 240mAh lipos at .2A...

4 x 2S 260mAh in parallel = 2S 1040mAh lipo...6A charge rate is almost 6C. I would only charge at 1 Amp = 1C charge rate, but I am not familiar with these lipos.

Modern batteries can easily charge at 5C, some are even speccing 10C like the 1300mAh Nano-Tech batteries I just bought for my 300X. But 10C... do I believe that?

Been doing it since the Beast V1 and the batteries are room temp after charging. So no....Boom

I usually bail on these UM UMX threads because there are way too many people that think they are an authority in the hobby when all they do is fly these little planes.

I've been in this hobby for the better half of a decade and up until last year I had around 30 planes in my hangar from 1s UM to 8s bipes. I don't just go into anything blindly. I've had Sport, 3D, EDF, VT, Full house gliders, and Scale. I've downsized to just 2 3D's, .50size warbird, a couple of indoor planes and this MIG.

Now that you've established your place in the pecking order maybe you can help us neophytes... you know... like me who started flying in the late 70's with a Sig Kadet and went on from there, including a 15 pound Kobe Gakken Hughes 300. Jeez... that's the better half of, well... that's 34 years.

I apologise if I came across as a bit pushy
Yeah, I know what you mean about certain people throwing their weight around and using all kind of aeronautical quotes to backup their ideas...

I'm not saying anyone is wrong (or right even) but I'm pretty sure we are all just trying to help each other out.
True not many of us would get into the diplomatic corps, it's hard to express emotion in text form and things are easily taken out of context.
