Ok, that motor does seem to be 1500kv so you're good as you are. 50% back into the battery is where you want to stay for good life and safe level discharge of the batteries.
You'll soon find out how awesome this plane is the more you fly it. This is one of the best if not the best EPP 3D plane in the 32" class for the money. Enjoy...

Yep, that motor is a 1500kv and with 2S the 9x4.7 is the best prop, 3S an 8x4.7. Both the 1500kv and 1900kv are nice on 2S and crazy on 3S.

Is that cell voltage per cell? So a 2S is 7.44-7.64?

I've got many 9x4.7 props, maybe I'll trim one down and see how that does

Flew the Slicko again tonight, and used a GWS 8x4 HD prop and a 3 cell 860 TP pack from the days of black and white television, and it had good power and about 8 minute flight. I did manage to hit myself with it during a landing, the wind was turbulating around my house and I just could not figure out which way it wanted to go. Did my first knife edge loop too !

Yes per cell voltage, when I fly hard I'm ok with taking the battery down to it's nominal voltage, 2 cell 7.4v & 3s 11.1v

I think by "trim one down" he means cut to shorter length.

Paint

I found Apple Barrel and FolkArt acrylic ($.57 & $.97 respectively) at Walmart today. Can these be used in an airbrush? Are they a good choice for epp?

I've used apple barrel in the past successfully. You have to thin it down with water, rubbing alcohol or windex. I actually prefer a mixture alcohol and distilled water. If it's just alcohol it can dry in the gun, with just water it takes a lot longer to dry on the plane. Another tip is to get some acrylic floor wax and thin it and mist it over the areas that are going to be handled a lot. Helps keep the paint from rubbing off.

Thanks Khen. Is there a preferred alcohol 70%, 90%, etc?
