Looking good n00b. Glad you like it so far and thank you! Aside from stepping on it hard I don't think you'll break the wood. I've abused mine bad and it's still kicking.

Soooo, that's what the two little strips of wood are for, to brace the nose. Ahh, oh, well. I've been flying quite nicely without the bracing. Guess I'll get them put in later tonight.

My reasons for buying: I call it "The 3 P's" Price, Pre-solder, Pre-hinged - Also the reasons I went with this plane over another for near the same price. Although I don't mind the extra work, it sure makes it easier when you don't have to add that to the build.

I still can't fly this thing comfortably on high rates yet. Too much authority!!! I should probably dial in some expo, huh? This plane is crazy!!! I fly my other plane on high rates, no expo, all the time because it has less authority.

The 2 nose stiffener pieces are not necessary, but it will considerably help stop the foam from tearing behind the motor on nose-in crashes and prop strikes. That's a pretty common tear point on these EPP planes. The other is it helps stop the nose from twisting when you throttle up the motor.

3flyguy3, I'd start at about 50% expo on all surfaces on high rates. That should smooth things out quite a bit. I wanted the Slicko to be tame on low rates and insane on high rates.

Sorry for the delay in getting the latest kit instructions online.. I've got lots of stuff going on as of late.

Mentioning that, I used 50% on my mcfoamy, smoothed it out nice on full rates. very similar plane.

fuse halves werent seperated so needed to cut by the tail section, just glad ive done a few of these profiles before or ida had no idea as it wasnt in the destructions, just the joy of epp, hard to go wrong.

Looks good n00b. I normally slice the tail before I put them in the bag. I'll have to put that earlier in the process and document it, I bet I've let a few slide.

Hi cors, carbon lead edge adds about 3g + glue, maybe 4g total. Hxt's are on the way, maybe a few weeks out. The aoxing is a nicely built motor. On 2s it carries a 7.5oz nicely, 3s it's pretty sick.

I plan on starting into a new design soon. Get Real has some cool stuff in the works that I might have to borrow from We had done some testing on a 38" Slicko some time ago. I'm thinking something like that might be next.

"Only 38 inches" ??? Pour some Miracle Grow on it and make it 64 inches, then freeze dry it until it is 26 inches and call it the "Slick-ette" I double-dog-dare-ya.
