I'm with you 420. I'm now cutting it by simply walking on it as it breaks apart. I set the sprinkler out but don't turn it on just to torment it for all it's done to me.

One of my brother's friends e-mailed this link around to make us feel better about the heat.

We have had a drizzle here for the last several hours, not amounting to much, but we'll take anything we can get at this point---.

It's stayed fairly cool here for the last few days, in the low 80's, not too bad, considering what it was.

The drizzle lasted through the night, but the ground is still dry under the trees. Hoping for a bit more rain today---.

Wild night.

Not the fun kind. Five hours, 9PM to 2AM of non-stop lightning and thunder in all directions, 360*, plus cloud to cloud overhead. The c to c was pretty neat with bolts running in all directions at the same time. I've never seen anything like it. 4+ inches of rain yet very little wind. It was continuously so bright you could barely see the individual lightning bolts. Mom Nature was mad about something.

Whew! that's really hot, Tom.

Right now it's 72 degrees here, and we're hoping for the promise of a little bit of rain for tonight and tomorrow.

Our boat club picnic is Saturday, and just guess when the rain, if it ever arrives, will be---.

We got a break over on this side of the pond by having the distinction of 3 - COUNT 'EM THREE!!! - typhoons blow through here just in the past week.

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/ch..._131770540.htm

I woke up Wednesday to 1/4" of water behind the bar in our living room from rain blowing around the window frames!

The hurricane party started early for me that day & it certainly didn't slow down the EP guys who were out in force the day after on our local course in blustery winds running in the rain.

Thats not fun, I"m glad we haven't seen a cyclone even though we are on the southern end of the "zone"

Adelaide, where I lived in the past would have a week or more of 45 C (113F) every summer, usually during the outdoor show we attended as traders

Cheers
Nick

Outdoor events seem to be a magnet for that kind of weather---.

but hurricane parties are fun!!!

of course, around here they just make every thing MORE humid and just as hot with the added pleasure playing with chain saws.

thankfully they are a rare occurence in my neck of the woods. but when they do come, I get to meet my nieghbors as we all come together to get through it all.

unlike the time I got to meet the neighbors when I spread 100 pounds of fresh elephant poop in my gardens..
