The lower quality versions are under $10, but still a good camera for the money, not HD and probably not 30 fps though.

I see, that makes them useless to me.

It's all squared away though. I happen to be installing some led emergency lights on a job recently and noticed that conn for the aux lighting was the same as the battery connector for the 939. I was able to source a few for my future projects. So with one of those and a pig tail from a 939 board I now have a quick disconnect. All good.

yah, it's a KlonWarz kinda thing! lol

it actually came with a slip of paper with instructions...
video format: AVI
Image format: 720x480
Camera format: 1280x1024

that's about it for specs.. :-)
the rest is, well... it begins with, " hope it can help your life safe and happiness" and there's 4 paragraphs abt pushing the buttons plus 1 amendment and another paragraph abt setting the time/date.

:-)
Fun stuff!

That was GREAT, bartricky! Florida???

I was there once, years ago... I liked it very much! :-)

Beautiful sports complex... and right alongside the beach... livin the good life! Wow!

Resolution of your vid is excellent, IMO.
I've seen better, from the gopro and even btr from the other hi$ cams... but I am just not able to drop that kinda $'s at this time.

Hope I will be able to post vids for y'all, soon!

Best

So.... I made this canopy last night. I was going for a dragster/space racer kinda look but, IDK what happened, it turned out looking like a shoe to me or, at some angles, it looks like something I can't mention on a family friendly forum.
I guess I'll stick with the bottom of a water bottle, it seems to give the most protection anyway.

Nice job axing the plastic bottles!
I'm growing an assortment of shapes, myself, for building materials.
SOMEBODY is really ticked off that I'm collecting garbage. :-(

I have not yet discovered the best way to cut the plastic without lacerating myself in the process. Really don't want to go in for stitches! lol

I'm LOOKING for info on forming the PET-G plastic and having trouble finding good info...

If anyone has a good link I would really like it!!!!

I've got hot air guns, flame, and also a small steam generator...

I'd also like to learn about which solvent and adhesive cements are best for the different plastics available in consumer goods we could re-purpose.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Tnx

Hi R.
Build a simple hot wire cutter. There are many Youtube design videos available for this. The one in the video that I linked is very elaborate and you can go much simpler, but just to give you the idea. I don't use a lipo as in the video, I use an old PC power supply. The plastic edge is much stronger when you do it this way.
home made hot wire cutter (4 min 40 sec)

I still prefer simple protective open cell foam

Cheers,
Jim

Tnx J !

I've got three types of MIG welding wire in front of me, and a buncha guitar strings in the drawer next to me...
Automotive battery chargers, transformers, and power supply units a few feet away in the garage...
I need to root out a light dimmer switch or pot to control voltage...

Otherwise... I'm just dragging my feet, over-thinking something simple !!!

I need to make a jig to cut foamie wings up to 48".

Now I'm wondering if I can use the hot wire to cut PET ???

...gotta rig this with a little exhaust fan to avoid breathing the fumes from melting the plastic.

I'll go back to your mega-link now and search for info on PET-G fabrication.

Tnx J!

Yes, the bottle bottom gives you more protection, but less help with the orientation when flying...

Dremel tool:
- cutoff wheels for straight lines (I like 409's not 420's)
- metal bits for curves
- maybe a drop of CA run around the edge for smoothness and strength

Hot Knife (like an Xacto on a soldering iron):
- Great! now I can cauterize my wounds right when I make them!

Yup! That would be me!

When on the construction sites I always kept a needle and Bic lighter in the truck to pierce smashed fingernails... and a small tube of superglue for lacerations.

I'm over reading the Mega-Link to find PET-G info... want to form it...

I think the open cell spongy foam, shaped to fit, might be the lightest, and still provide a bit of impact protection.... but it just won't look as nice as the harder formed PET.
