true higher capacity supplies more current for same c rating by definition. i also get noticeably better performance with 600mah on my v929 but it does fly with 300mah. my v939 size quad flies better with 300mah than it does with 600mah or 138mah but it does fly with both. 138mah is not big enough for the v929 though.

i guess designers chose best battery for a given size. if the quad actually wont lift with half size battery then i suspect either the battery or the motors are on their way out. or maybe im just lucky to get unusually strong cells. they are hk cheapies though so idk.

or maybe our definition of "fly" is different. im pretty happy if i can hover and move from one place to another (easy to please. lol).

I found the 600mAh batteries to have more capacity than I what needed. I'm used to swapping batteries at the end of a 5-minute session, and when I check the remaining voltage, it's usually 3.85V or 3.9V. I could enjoy a more agile quad with lighter batteries but not sacrificing on flight time.

As for the possible lower discharge rate i.e. "punch" of the craft when coupled with lower capacity batteries, I'd have to try to find out if it will be an issue.

My MQX will fly for 12 mins..with the 600mah.

I suppose my V949 will have similar flight times, as at 5 minutes, it still has 3.85V left. But I'm satisfied with 5-minute sessions with some breaks in-between.

If you use a 808 keychain camera naked without the hard cover it weights around 9 grams (against 17 with the cover) so the total quad(with foam canopy)+300mah battery+camera weight would be just around 2 to 3 grams more than the original V929 configuration.

Right now I have one with a cover glued right onto the bottom. It flies ok but like you say there's some extra weight there. I'll probably do one without the cover at some point. Thanks for the measurements!!!

Hey everyone. Is there a link to a cheap FPV system that will work with the 929?

This is a really low powered system, that can work but will require more work than the component based ones.
On the plus side, the 10mw transmitter here is well filtered and usually with a proper regulator attached u can get away with using just one battery for flight and for video...(which you can't do in the more high powered systems).
I recently posted on my fpv system working on the v929, which is working quite well with flight times up to 5 mins...

Well they don't post component weights, but they do say 250 grams as the weight so I don't see that coming even close to working unless you want a first person video of the ground not moving

250g is shipping weight. The camera+tx should be between 5-10g

I "suppose" as you can read "should be between..." I read it anywhere but don't know where anymore...
But I can be totally wrong...maybe it's up to 20g but can be stripped down
