Finally felt good enough to get out in the garage last night and bag the wing. Forgot to do some basics, like cloth along leading edge to sand back to, and getting bag etc sorted before mixing resin. But I think it turned out ok considering.
I also need to reinforce my shelf that the Hot Box is on so I can weight my wing in the beds more.
Really happy with the surface finish.

So I finally got around to finishing this. Had so many other non DS projects on the go recently.
Trimmed up wing, which took ages sanding 10 layers of glass!
Cut out elevons and freed the live hinge using my new HSS scraping tool.
Installed servos. I was going to go with HXT900s like I had on the RT28 and RT30, but after some measuring, I found MG-16s were thinner, so I popped them in. WAY overkill, but at least I will never have to worry about the servos! with a tiny bit of sanding of the case, they fit in PERFECT!
Hooked it all up and glued fuse on wing with Hot Glue
Now just need to get up the hill for a test flight

Yes the wings are coming out better and better thanks to everyone's suggestions and advice
This one is just for some fun, not really for going super fast. Have built it solid, but not heavy.
The RT28 topped out at 121mph and the RT30 still holds the 30" WR at 171mph in 30-35mph winds.
If I can some progress, having problems atm, I will have some nice RT30 molds
Test chucked the RT42 down at the park just now to get it CGed. I should have gone out to the middle as third throw was amongst some small saplings and I put it perfectly into a waratah post. Embedded itself on the LE. Fixing now

Just find somewhere that doesn't have a rock and lawn dart it in. Seriously!
Being small and overbuilt they are almost bullet-proof and as long as the ground is soft, they just do a good impression of a lawn dart.
However, I do try land them nicely sometimes. Just a matter of approaching low and slow down the back and do a backside landing. Tim shows it really well here:

Got a test flight and first DS laps in today.
Was nose heavy, but that's better than the opposite! Needs more CG adjustment. Really nice to DS, even in the 12mph wind! Will be perfect for 15-25mph winds which are most days here in Summer.
Still cold here, but summer is just around the corner!
