With respect the real thing in a glider is right hand elevators and ailerons unless I presume you are left handed or a captain/P1 on an Airbus manufactured aircraft that have a control stick on the left for P1 and right for P2 but they are of course powered aircraft where perhaps one does tend to fly with your left hand on the stick/yoke, right hand throttle etc,.
For sensitive flying of less than quarter scale gliders having a computerized transmitter can make all the difference in the world especially if marginal conditions albeit for the Tutor/T31 it is maybe of little consequence as the real that I flew and the model I built are not exactly super flying machines - quite the opposite.

NP's . . by the 'real thing' I meant the elevator and ailerons are on the one control stick. Mode 1 and mode 4 have them on seperate sticks. Thats all I meant. What mode you fly doesn't matter AS LONG AS YOU FLY ! !

It's xmas eve, the sun is shining, not a beath of wind . . .looks like I should down at the park . . . FLYING.

Hope santa makes your wishes come true,

slowed down on the building ,and been getting my Super cub ready to tow my mates 1/5 ASW 20 Glider.
We have been talking about it for some time, and decided to do something about it.
I had my doubts about being able to pull a 5 lb 3 m glider with a 6 lb OS 46 powered model.
Anyway we went a head and made all the towing attachments and took it out to a friends private air strip this morning.Arrived out there at 7.30 and the weather conditions were spot on.
Well all I can say is we succeeded and had 6 flights.
The cub had to be trimmed down so as to stay on the ground until the ASW lifted off the dolly. This was about 65 meters. As soon as the glider was flying the cub jumped into the air and away we went.
Once both planes were flying the OS46 had plenty of power to give a good climb out.
My mate has just bought a small video cam so we had that mounted on the glider tail. Some cool videos .
success and now looking forward to the next flights.
will put up a video when done.
MINI0007model ASW 20 glider towed by a model Piper Cub (7 min 28 sec)
... the first part the glider near on took me out ,so we stopped.. the main tow is from round half way.

To busy flying.....not a lot has been done on the T-31 over the last wee while.Extending the work table first, then finish the wing plans..
Over the last few days have been doing mods to the floats off the Cub,and finishing off a 1/16th scale hydro race boat I started in 2009.
winter time will see a heap more progress.

cheers.mintie.

Hang in there Phil...I will be back into it again.
Weather just to good to miss out on any flying at the moment
I do have a lot of different models, not just planes.
Sometimes it is nice to just have a wee break and do something totally different.
I have 14 planes,two boats,One RC motorbike,a Heli and a 1/4 scale Gokart.
cheers Graeme

Sounds like fun Minty, perhaps the driver could have a weekend job in the cockpit of a 1/4 scale glider. Speaking of pilots I need a good low cost 1/4 to 1/3 scale pilot or an easy way of making one. What were you going to do for your T31??

Hey Graeme, We seriously need to meet up for aerotow.

Come join our group, or we could have a meet at your club??

Had a great Aerotow at Burnham last weekend!

Also, am happy to cut foam cores out for you. Can do normal white foam free of charge as long as you collect them from me
