The S800 is so efficient it got there on a 3S 2100 lipo. The landing phase is a whole different story though.

I will get to the bottom of it and do whatever we need to so you have a great flying reliable machine. To not do this would be some lousy customer service.

Email me if you need my ship to address.
And this post is why I'm not afraid to fly my S800. Robert / DJIUSA will take care of you.

Haha Flavio I knew I saw one of your videos here somewhere!
Just waiting for Lipos to finish charging and I'm off for the test on 5.14a.
First with Idle speed to highest with same gains, then if that does not work I will set all gains to default and work my way up...
May I ask how you found out about putting Idle speed to high? And my S800 will not just take off and fly away until battery is dead on highest idle speed will it lol.

No, It still controllable . You dont need to put it on Highest. Put between Recommended and highest.

I know this because I have had some issues with the motors acceleration and DJI said me to put Idle speed higher and it solve my problem.
Now I still have the problem of white flashes. DJI send me an new IMU to test if it solve my problem.

I'm going to make some more tests wright now, because i said to DJI that the problems may not come from the wookong but from the S800 and they said to I ask a friend to holt S800 landing gear and I slowly give full trottle to see of some motors/ESC give some "error"

When flying in GPS-Atti I get a lot of white flashes. (wind was blowing a bit). And one thing I'm still trying to hunt down are the "high frequency" vibrations which renders this platform nearly unusable for videography. And its the vibration that worry me. Maybe they lead to a "cold" solder on the ESC?
I've eliminated a bit by fitting rubber mountings between the gimbal & frame but its still cropping up in the footage.
Using the recommended gains of 220/220 etc V5.14a

Flavio, you are a genius .Thank you for posting, without you I would never have figured it out!

I changed the idle speed one notch up, between recommended and high, and it solved the pulsing with the recommended gains (220-220-...) that were giving me problems on 5.14a.
So I am now on 5.14a with the same settings as 5.12 except for idle speed...

I did two 12min flights with weights and no gimbal, throwing the sticks around and the S800 was just perfect

THANK YOU!!!

I could see the problem with crashes on S800s being with ESC timing. Maybe some units are unable to support the middle "recommended" setting and need the timing slightly higher. The motor could either lose sink or get confused and go 100% throttle. Of course there is zero data to back this up but I could buy it as something to investigate (although I would imagine DJI has already checked into this).
