The IMU and GPS offsets are just there to fine tune performance, and are/should not be essential to keep the thing up in the air.
S800 tried its best to find position hold for landing but it came down about 20 ft from where it took off and tried to move on the ground...it bounced twice third time ended in a flip. breaking the landing gear and 3 props. had no control all I could do is watch.

weird thing is it landed via GPS fine the previous day?

The exact same thing happen to me while testing my Hexa f550. Had tested it two times prior and on the third time it flipped and kept the motors running breaking a prop.

quick explanation how it goes:

green - it's OK (obvious)
yellow - gps mav surf in radius even up to 65-70 meters
red - goes idiot and can fly away as it wishes on it's own

Edit:

photo of actual view at sun (these disturbances are storms)

Today I tried 15x7.5 carbon props and S800 became a little better flyer... less wobbling but vibrations in the arms still remain, also sound is normal... for n.6 x 15'' props and 6,2kg drone I mean :-)
Pid setted to 150-150-100-140, atti 140-140 and 5.14a beta firmware.
With S800 220-220-100-150 standard pid was to much reactive and nervous.
Flight time and current are similar to standard props.
With no wind it fly perfectly, very stable and no wobbling, in windy condition the arms start to vibrate a little bit but it fly with very low wobbling. probably with better tuning it will fly better and better.
I am going to modify arms with some carbon strips, next week I will post some pictures and test results.
I agreee with you guys, you can not buy this expensive kit and have this vibration problems... but I am happy because Z15 is simply amazing and resolve all!!!!
And I love S800 smooth flying with GPS mode, it is very easy machine.
I used MK, arducopter and now WKM on S800 and this is the easier drones to use in particular for video making.
I think S800 with Cinestar gimbal or AV200 it is not better way for video, Z15 is amazing, NO EQUAL!!

Ferdinand, did you test Graupner 14x8?

yea, but i have Cinestar 3Axis (or Cinestar 100% like) which costed me XXXXX cheaper than I would have to pay for the Z15 (which is way more expensive, but i have to agree, that way BETTER. maybe in close future )
