Actually when I initially set mine up I put everything between the boards as well but went to my reseller to finish the installation and he removed the mc and receiver from where I had mounted them and put them on the top board. Said it was better that way, the main reason is because I have a few flights to do this winter for ski resorts and don't want to damage any of the electronics in the snow. As far as I know the motors are weatherproof but that's about it. I'm not overly concerned with the camera, not that there is much that can be done except tape a ziploc bag on it somehow. Crap, the gimbal.... bearings etc.. interesting. Maybe I should shoot with a F550 and gopro instead... hmmm..

No telling really. He could have panicked and lowered the throttle too much.

I watch that video yesterday and notice a bell ringing sound around 0:36-0:38 I think I'm away from my PC and can barely here now from my handphone.

For crash I think it did what its suppose to do but the pilot has no visual of his model so it landed hard

and from now, i can t still understand why the s800 has the motor failed. Once the s800 turn around, can it still climb on altitude or it can only to descent?

Sounded like a mechanical failure of some sort. It also sounds like he hit a heavy crosswind when he crossed the fence line. Could have been enough to break a CF prop or rub the bell.

Completely different question:
Would you fly your s800 when snow is falling?

Yes, of course everything in moderation. A regular snow fall is nothing for these copters. A blizzard on the other hand I'd probably steer away from.

I am worried about the ESCs because they are quite open and water could get in them...

The new feature does help but you would need to pratice this first and of course have a good gps signal (course lock & home lock). but with the camera mounted, we need to increase the throttle a lot, otherwise I believe it becomes quite heavy for only 5 motors, and you don't have a lot of time to think what to do.

As far as snow goes take a look at the Cinestar gimbal promo video. If it was a large risk I don't think they'd be flying such expensive gear. The opening scene shows how much snow was falling.

My ESC's are sealed in on my S-800, but as has been said, fly with-in moderation. An experienced pilot I would like to think would make the right call whether they thought it was safe to fly or not.

Still getting bad vibrations in wind of 5 kts and above, this weekend I flew 9 flights throughout the day over water, people ext...the DJI S800 did well, but the vibs causing Jello is frustrating to say the least...

Looking at another gimbal for it...

As far as the mechanics I feel 98% in it... with over 75 flights now..

Still have white flashes and occasional red.
