LED light on Hummingbird Tail

I would like to add an LED light to the tail of my hummingbird motor. I found this pic of it dont b4 see attached. What amp / volt LED do i need to take the least power from my heli? And do I need anything else to go with it like a diode? etc?

Im running 2 x lipos and gws direct drive tail motor

2.2Kohm resistor inline with a standard led should work

Thanks for your reply Dax There is a few different standard LEDS on this website

5v, 12 v etc which type would be best?

hi~
i suggest u use a 620ohm resistor
V=IR
8.4V=20MA x R
R=420ohm
anyway USE from tail motor is not good ,becase your motor `s V
is changing in flying so the led maybe donnot work~............

Thanks for your help with the resistor! I would of thought the led will just get brighter or dimmer.

Any leds on this page u suggest?

WELL~I suggest red or white 5mmLED because is brighter AND sharp.I have been use 8white led on the head of on hb....wow..when it open....very.....in night....

i used a 3mm flashing led a tantlum capacitor and a zenner doide i got the specs from the above link i look great i have also put lights on the body that can be switched on and off remotely


i will look for what specs 2morrow night all

Led On Tail

What he is using is a Tantalum Capacitor and a 1N4148 Switching Diode with a flashing led .....


You need the Diode to separate the led from shorting the motor leads and the Capacitor to supply a constant voltage (or to regulate) to the LED
