Hi,
I'm interested in preordering your Opteryx but the Paypal link for US orders doesn't appear to be working. The international version does seem to work but it has the wrong S/H.

Can you check on it please?

Thanks!

Rx and servos

Would these receiver and servos be light (and small) enough?
I already have some of them...

Paypal Link has been fixed, thank you for bringing that to my attention.
AlpineFlyer, the receiver you posted is around 6.5grams and the servo is 2.5grams, the servos and receivers that would best fit the Opteryx wold be the orange receiver which is 2grams and ultra micro servos at 1.7grams. here are the links

so to answer your questions, it would work but weight wise, you are about 5.3grams heavier, and every gram counts, she would fly but will be a bit on the heavy side.
hope that helps.

Thanks. Unfortunately the Minima is the lightest receiver compatible with AFHSS and Aurora 9. It should work with 1S, at least from 4.2V down to 3.7V. With the Minima and 1.7g servos it should be 4.5g heavier, i.e. 10-11% more.

I would remove the case from the Minima and use some light shrink tube/plastic to cut down the weight.

yes the casing is not necessary at all, its dead weight if you ask me, that alone might save you 3grams

Pretty cool. I'd like to see some flatland performance before I snag one. How about a soccer field video?

thank you Raynes, just wanted to say your JR DS188HV is around 6grams i believe, you might want to use the smallest servos which are 1.7grams, remember this bird is only 22" and if you want to catch thermals, keep her light

Samson, i will have more videos showing its flatland performance, i just have to many orders right now and not enough time to fly, but i will update this thread with more videos.

thanks to all who have placed an order. Once again im overwhelmed.

Cool little plane. I might bump up the tail surface area though, get rid of some of that severe yaw on the launch.

I could swear I've seen one of these before, but I just can't place it....

Very interested in an RTF but will need it shipping to the UK, what sort of delivery time would I be looking at?
Cheers

the yaw is not all that bad on the launch, i made the surface area of the tail thin so greater heights can be achieved upon throw and no extra weight will be required for the nose as the balance is perfect, i tried few sizes and this seemed to work best, of course this is just my opinion
shipping to UK will take around 2 weeks at most, sometimes if you're lucky one week.
thanks for all the interest guys.
