Practice contest

We're planning a practice 'contest' for this week-end, not sure if it's going to be Sat or Sun - just to get the bugs worked out, test the sound system, etc.

I think Larry needs to come out and practice his grilling

Sunday practice is officially ON!

We gathered a few more registrations, and we are well over 40 pilots now! Not quite at the record attendance of 2011 (53 pilots), but still a great number of pilots! We have a couple novices too, which is very encouraging. New HL pilots are joining us.

The T-shirt orders are officially closed as of Monday, but you are still welcome to submit your event entry until 1 week prior to the contest! We are still missing a few notable usuals, so we may get a couple more entries. Apparently, it is a very difficult task or may be too much of a commitment for some pilots to register for the event more than 2-3 days in advance even though they may know that they are coming

We never finalized our plans for Friday activities. I know a few pilots want to do an informal Pro-Am contest. I will try to create a mini-registration table (soon) for the Pro-Am and we will see how many pilots want to do it...

If there is a team that feels they hav an unfair advantage I could be available to help level the playing field.

On the eating thing I already have the trophy to prove how good I am!!!

Pro-Am event signup table

I created a mini spreadsheet for the Pro-Am signup.
Just enter your name, and select the class (Expert==Pro, Sportsman==Amateur). If you have a team of two pilots (Pro+Am) feel free to enter the team name. Otherwise we will pair off the pilots randomly at the field, or whichever way we see fit. Obviously, we want to have an equal number of experts and sportsmen, ideally. We need 2 equal groups of pilots.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...1RuU055NDhEOXc

If y'all think we ought to pay a small entry fee and then give half of the proceeds to the winners, and the second half to the F3K team, we could do that too.

The regular signup is also still open! We just received the entries from 2 most famous Ohio pilots, one junior USA team pilot and one junior USA team manager! Carolina Douche Crushers team is full now!

Are you sure about practicing again before the event? The trees are plenty, the planes are few(er than last week)!

I'll be gone this weekend, so no flying for me. Looking forward to the event...even if I am one of only two novices competing!

My goal for the event is to avoid the trees, avoid other planes, and have some fun!
