Now, it's time to install FPV gear on the tricopter.

You should fly the tricopter more than just vertically and horizontally, fly it in figure 8s or in circles to really find out how well it performs.

Good luck with GAME... I like the tagline.

Thanks..... As you can see I am an "Amateur" when it comes to flying ...I am a coder not a flyer but yeah more flight time under my belt will ensure more acrobatic and confident flight....
Thanks everyone On RCG..for inspiring and helping me...

Whatever electronics you choose, results are mainly achieved by how well you build the multirotor and it's obvious you did a great job. Congrats on building a great tricopter.

I like that tagline as well. Good luck with your club!

Soooo can you flash this board back to the stock FW that came with it? Yes the 1.2 has some cool features, but the AutoLevel needs work or something.
So i think id rather go back to the stock...for now!

Why would you like to go back to the stock...
if auto level is the reason...
then even if you could go back...
it would have not made any difference as the auto level algorithm
used on the kk2 has not changed at all
except for addition of some features like the accelerometer trims
to relieve the user of having to re-calibrate his sensors again and again...
so better stick with v1.2 ...

yea the reason was with the stock firmware, in AL i had control of the quad. and could adjust the sensitivity of it. With 1.2 its all over the place. and what used to control the amount of control now just enhances which ever way it chooses to throw the quad around in the sky!

you seen the video of what mine is doing in autolevel?

cheers

My yaw problems...constant slow right spin..and poor wandering hover
First I stripped the board out...
Then I tested all 4 motors just through the rec...I checked the tacho and found some variation , not a lot, but I then individually set the max and min throttle range..and rechecked on the tacho
All were good now revving up at 14400-500

Next I checked the esc programming to make sure all had been set the same and whilst checking them I set them all to nicad..

Next everything was refitted...

Next I double checked all the board settings , putting them at numbers much the same as are working on my earlier kk2 v1 firmware..

Next on the board settings I upped the stick scaling for the Yaw to 100 from 50, as the small 3 bladed props didnt seem to give me much torque

Next a check on my TX settings and a reset, setting the trims to 0 as shown on the board

The board at this stage is not firmly fixed to the quad, its in a deep recess but its not firm, just pushed down and held by the esc wires which are all jumbled in the recess

So I give it a try... and it is up and quite stable.. jerking/twitching a bit , so I am adjusting the gains down and it gets better, and I do a bit of TX trimming and it is good.. No right spin and the yaw response to the rudder stick is working.

I realize I am waffling on here.. but this is just to show that perseverance will pay off.. dont blame the board untill youve gone through everything many many times..
In my case as a newbee, its double check , double check and then put it right..

So .... Its good now.... and all I need is loads of practice

Have you tried a factory reset and reflash of 1.2 yet.

I flashed mine for my Tricopter to 1.2 and set main PI values to same as I had on V1 and my Tricopter flies exactly the same, with Autolevel on (left them as default) flies great, with Autolevel off its just as aerobatic as before.

It has not done weird things or drifted with V1 or V1.2

I dont know that the gyro can be reversed on a KK2, correct me if I am wrong.....its the KK1 board that can do that..
On a tri the gyro controls the servo, and that moves the tilt of the motor to rotate/spin the model..if you physically rotate the model the servo should tilt the motor in the opposite direction, so as to stop the twist/spin.. and the rudder also tilts the motor...check which way the servo moves and simply reverse servo direction if its needed..
When or if, its all moving in the correct direction, manually adjust the angle of motor tilt on the linkage until the model stops being spun up..
It doesn't take much of an angle to spin the model..

edit .....I was wrong and the answer is at post 1 #14
