Went flying in the real thing last night! :):):)
Took my momma up in a 172 last night - snapped a couple photos and a video. Fun times playing around the pattern in the waning sunlight.
Thursday I take the same plane to Tahoe to visit the old man - excited!

It ain't that far out of reach - I saved up money on a TA salary ($24k/yr) for a couple years, and pulled the trigger when I had enough to get it all done ($5k). It's a whole different world up there...

Do you still have the suspension landing gear for the habu by vigilante that you were selling? If so I am very interested in buying them. Contact me on gale1@hotmail.co.uk. Cheers

Thanks Tim! Had a blast taking the mother up, and a great flight up to Tahoe as well. I try to get up in the "real thing" as much as I can afford
Nice to meet ya today...Josh

Funny you mention the landing light thing - back when I was taking lessons my instructor liked to slyly click off the lights (landing, interior, and runway) as a simulation of full electric failure. Had to do a lot of 'feeling' about with the gear...

Well, I don't know when I'll be aviating in SoCal next. I haven't been able to find an affordable flight club down here (yet). If I did though, legally I'd be allowed to have everyone (myself included) pay an equal share of the flight expenses. Four set Cessna 172's generally rent for $100-120/hr that the engine is running, so if you, your lady, and me & my lady went flying for an hour, we could just split things four ways. If I find an outfit to fly with down here, I'll be sure to let you know!
