Yes red is metal to metal such as bearing races in metal housings. I just want to add that there is a purple loctite that works well to gum up threads from shaking loose, but is easier to loosen then blue

Thanks Keithm for the tip on the gears. I got two from SDP/SI for my Park Hawk and cut the hubs down to a 3mm height with a drill press and a Dremil cut-off wheel. The drill press made a great horizontal saw. Using the old gear as a template and a "c" clamp in a vise to hold the two gears in phase I drilled the holes in the new gear. It put it back together and test flew it today . Thanks also to Brian for the tips. The Loctite was blue and the screw loosened easily with a Weller dual temp soldering gun . Stay away from sidewalks.

I realize I'm a little late in posting this info. As mentioned on the previous page, I needed to replace the conn rod bearings on my LH. I found parts that exactly matched the original SK rod end and bearing at my LHS. They are also easy to find on eBay. The rod end and bearing are from racing trucks and are made by OFNA Racing. The rod end is P/N 36690 and the bearing, P/N 36850.

I took LIG's advice and ordered a .093" X 16.75" X 16.75" Black Glass Ply fiberglass sheet from ACP Composite.

Using a dremel tool, it is easy to cut out the fitting that inserts in the rod end. Cut it a bit oversize and thread it into the rod end using a good grade epoxy. Drill and tap the holes to attach to the flex plate and your done.

I received a PM from n553302 who made his repair by using the same parts. He used a cutoff wheel to remove the old rod end and used the original attachment plate in the new rod end. I would suggest that it might be quicker to use his method and avoid making the new plate fitting. If this doesen't work, you can then cut out a new plate as I've described.

Perhaps n553302 will add a post to this detailing his method.

I'm interested in attemting to fabricate my own WingSails for my bird. Has anyone out there tried that? Is there any info out there as to what the materials are on the SK Orni's? Maybe sources?

What is the material exactly? Feels like Dacron but what weight?

Is the type that has the "cross hatches" something special?

What is the black tape? Is it just binding tape or something special?

What adhesive is used to bind the Dacron together where you place the carbon battens?

Can you recommend any sources for these materials?

any kite makers or sail makers the black is 3oz dacron the ripstop i got was .6 oz from a local racing sail maker any thing up to 1 oz would be ok i would say as for adhesive it is double sided tape which you can get this from hang em high or kite builder on the net google it

I desperately need a body/fuselage for my Park Hawk - been out of action for 6 months after a crash -
Where to get , please ?

I recently purchased a used Big Lazy Hawk from Heavy Chevy. I'm in need of replacement o-rings, the ones used to attach the tail to the tail servo, but it appears its the same part used in various places on the bird. Can anyone tell me what the dimensions/hardness/etc. of the part are so that I can order a bunch from McMaster-Carr instead of trying to place a small parts order from SK?

Nevermind, I think I found them:

12mm OD x 5mm ID x 3.5mm CS, bought 50 on eBay for less than $5. Now I just gotta wait for them to get here from HK :P
