Spad Gnat Combat
Looking at building an electric Spad Gnat SSC combat plane. I've seen a few conversions but rarely do people give specs on gear used and often they make several mods to lighten the airframe which greatly reduce durability. The original instructions are no longer online but photo attached of a completed nitro.
This completed nitro plane is about 2lbs with a Magnum .15. Normal rules are min 2.5 lbs but we fly informal combat. Rules do state a Master Airscrew 8 x 3 prop which I would like to continue using. (One in photo is using APC 8x4 for break-in) Also maximum RPM is 17,500 turning that prop.
I really need power system suggestions. From what I understand at 2lbs I'll need around 250W (maybe more?). The thing really throwing me is all the .15 equivalent motors call for 11"+ props, how is that equivalent then?
Also looking to source all parts from US warehouses preferably.
