I'm also interested in this.
The Great Plane's 30mm EDF takes a 10mm motor. The brushed motor from the 4site is 8.5mm. The other issue is that these little brushed motors have a 1mm shaft whereas the GP 30mm takes 1.5mm shaft. You'd have better success using GWS-30 which also takes a 10mm motor but the rotor uses a 1mm shaft. Better still, I have ordered a Shapeways made 25mm EDF housing specially designed for 8.5mm motors by micro-EDF guru NitroCharged (He's just got to ship it to me). |

One of the more successful AR6400 + 8.5mm brushed motor for 30mm EDF setups i've seen is the BAD Omega.
Similar thrust to what you measure - between 9g and 11g. Not a lot but the results speak for themselves. Just need to keep the weight of your model to < 25g I would think it it will work alright. |
