Esky Belt CP V2 kit shipped with badly bent tail shaft.

I purchased a Belt CP V2 KIt to build a Helicopter, add my own electronics.
just pulled it off the shelf and began the build..
Discovered even though with a quick visual inspection everything looks good.
However the tail shaft is bent badly and this helicopter is not flyable.

Xheli sold me this heli recently however they are not providing any replacement parts for them.. I'd like them just to send me a new shaft or replace the kit
with an alternate 450 helicopter kit that I can use my 450 electronics with.

I emailed, opened a support ticket and telephoned XHELI on 6-10-2012
Today's date is 6-18-2012 and I have not heard back from them at all
And my ticket status remains "CRITICAL" but unchanged.
It's like they looked at the ticket and just tossed it aside.

The support ticket# is CNA-897-61820
And my order number (when we ordered the Belt CP V2) was:
yhst-94582326164583-494919

I'd like the bad tail shaft to be replaced.
If unable to do this, I'd like the 450 kit replaced with a similar kit that will fly.
The kit I have is bad and is not going to work.

I will have the parts department send you a replacement tail boom for the Belt CP V2.

Hello Charlie,
It's not a bent tail boom.
It is a bent tail rotor shaft.
The part that turns and is connected to the belt with a gear in the very back.

It does not appear that XHeli stocks or supports ESKY any longer.
There are hardly any parts available.
I was a little upset after purchasing the Esky product (Belt CP V2)
That I could not easily get parts for from XHeli.

My mistake, I got the part and will have it sent out to you. If you Google "esky helicopters" you should be able to find other dealers that carries the parts for the helicopter.

Do you know how long this will take?
If you can get it out sooner rather than later that would be most helpful.
It is waiting on only that one part now to fly :-)

I know it's only a inexpensive part and it was not available at XHeli.

I'd be willing ti settle for an EXI kit if that were easier for you to ship than find the part.
However if you are replacing the part that will be easiest for me.
As it's all I need to complete my 450 Build.

If you shipped me an EXI I'd have to start over and take my electronics off the Belt CP V2 that I spent time setting all up.

I gave the shipping department the part earlier this week and when I checked on the order right now it shows that a taking slip has been made. The tail shaft should be going out today.

Hello Charlie, thanks for all of your help.
I think I need some more help though.

I just went to try and remove the old shaft however it is non-removable because
some type of permanent loc-tite or other non removable compound is applied to all of the metal screws on the shaft hub and tail blade components.

I destroyed 3 of my allen bits & screw driver trying to remove the screws and also now the screw on the tail hub/shaft is also stripped from attempting to carefully remove it.

Before trying this I was unable to apply enough heat to the assemblies to try and loosen
the screws because the heat will melt all of the plastic components that are in contact.

The only way to get the shaft and other components off is going to be to break them or grind them off.

So I think I'm also going to need you to send me a new tail hub, blade grips & screws and all associated screws for this.

This is the part that the tail blades fit into, it has a slug screw (allen) that goes on the flat of the tail shaft (this is non-removable).
It also has two screws that hold the tail blade grips in.
These screws are also non removable.. I tried.
The blade grips will also get melted if I try to heat up these screws.

I did try low heat (as not to melt the plastic parts and this was not enough to
free up either the blade grip screws or the tail hub.

If you could please send me those parts, along with the replacement for the bent tail blade shaft I can get it working.

Ok I will send you the entire tail assembly. The tail shaft got sent out already USPS tracking 9400116901066721614497, so the tail will be going out in a separate package.

When I took off the tail shaft I disassembled it till it was just the collar and the shaft and used a heat gun on it for a couple seconds to break down the loctite. If you have a fine point solder iron that would work too.

HI Charlie I did try a soldering tip, but I was also cautious not to get it so hot that I melt the plastic.
Maybe I was a little too careful and didn't get it hot enough.
And I stripped the allen slug along with my tool attempting.

You must have the balance and timing just right to get it hot enough before any other connected plastic parts melt.

Something I might be able to do with a few more attemps with new parts and
experience. :-)

I'd certianly like to buy much more from Xheli however I've seen an ongoing out of stock
problem since January 2012.
I've needed batteries as well as other tools & parts that would help me maintain the Belt CP V2 helicopters I've got from Xheli.
But it seems that about everything I need has been out of stock, and for a long time.

Your good customer service that you've provided here on this forum has kept me as a customer and I continue to recommend others.
The items out of stock is a frustration but that is life.

I've found I can order items from eBay/China although not my preferred route, it works.

I've found customer service via phone email, or opening 'support tickets' on the Xheli website has not been effective or productive at all.

I assure you you are losing customers who have only ever tried that route for
help and do not know about your quality of help on this forum and that you actually keep such a good eye on this forum.

Maybe you should let the people at xheli that care about this (if they do) know.

I also understand there may be some culture/language barriers between the executive division of XHeli and the United States based clients.
In that case I'd recommend some consulting to better understand how we operate here if they wish to maximize efforts here.

Aside from all of that thanks again.
I'm relatively new with RC/Aircraft and still getting familiar myself before I ever enter into the business realm of it.
I continue to watch and look for opportunities.
I'm excited at all of the creativity and niche markets that have been created around all of this fun.

I received all of the parts Thank you VERY much for shipping the entire tail assembly.
This made the repair go smoothly and quickly.
It's now fully assembled and flying!!
