hmm my test results were not good

it stays on the helical, even when im behind and there is almost no signal...

Hey, no sorry its to cold outside to du further flights now ( -24°.. )
nothing special to see on the picture, it just stays on chanal 2 (helix) all the way.

V_Okto, that's interesting. If you disconnect the channel 2, can you confirm it then switches to channel 1? And are you certain it was set for diversity during your flight (sorry for asking).

Also, what was the diversity setting, and was the image fully readable but just a little fuzzy, or was the image distorted?

One thing that I've been considering is adding a "channel affinity" option, which would cause the EE to "like" channel 1 more than channel 2, if both appear to have good signal (no distortion/waviness in the image). Any thoughts about that?

like Chan 1 swp stay there until Helix chan 2 has mutch better picture.

I have implemented a prototype of the channel affinity. It is going to need quite a bit of experimenting, though. Dion, sorry, I'm still not ready for another test. :S

Thanks for trying this. The main question is whether switching is working to your satisfaction. There has not been another version posted so it is the same one you tried last time (but I think you had diversity switched off?).

now i dubble check to activate it

sidenote, after powercycling it always starts with diversity off and av1

no more bad switches, works ok for me.
the only thing is the switches are a bit slow, so it stays for example very long on the swp and waits for the first real video dropouts to switch for the helix (witch had a mutch better picture for the last 20-30sec).

here i have an example (first on helix, i fly over myself, helix pointig away, picture gets bad, switch)

V-Okto, that's great news about the improved switching. Re the delayed switching time, I think you would just need to increase the diversity sensitivity. What do you have it set to now?
