Bill,
Could you give us a quick tut on what the EEyes uses to decide what receiver to use? Mine seems to have similar issues, and will switch to a far inferior receiver, and will only switch back to the better receiver if it totally looses video sync on the poor(er) of the two. It seems to be simply based on if it has sync or not. Does not seem to select the best picture. I am @ 1280 Mhz and using identical receivers with one exception, that being the remote receiver is on an adjacent tripod about 10 cable feet away.

Are the levels from the receiver critical in the inputs of the EE?

I doubt the type of antenna would have anything to do with the issue described in the thread. The band width and output response of the receiver, however could be important. Again, could you advise what EE uses to determine what receiver?

THANKS!

Thanks, Rene. The items are on their way here and will report back with testing results.

Pathloss, the diversity algorithm checks for several things (and is proprietary) but should definitely not be switching from a good quality signal at all. What brand of receivers do you have?

Using the following:
Racewood 1.3GHz Wireless AV Receiver VRx For FPV & Wireless CCTV Cameras Blue Label 1.2TR-1500B. (Dronesvision.com)

Works well. I understand the confidential nature expressed, but only ask if it should switch away from a 'snowy' picture into a good one, and if the sensitivity, and / or video levels have anything to do with it?

Would a 10' jumper cable on the diversity have anything to do with it? I could coil up a longer jumper on the other if you think it may help equalize the response.

Thanks

Hi, it should not switch to an inferior channel. It's detecting something in the signal of the superior channel that is causing it to think the channel has an issue. We'll be testing the specific HW for Rene's problem, and will see if that might also explain your issue.

If you test with short cables, does the problem occur?

To be sure, I did shorten all cables to max 20cm. Also rewind everything. You guess... No difference.

As soon as the oppressive HEAT stops, I will be able to fly it again. I will likely elect to add length to the 'local' receiver, as my 'crash' pod usually stands 6 to 8 feet away from the tracker.

V_Okto, we have two RC305s and related equipment on order, and once those get here, we'll sort out what's going on.
