Ornithopters Glide Controller & Protoseni's Bird

Hi,

We're introducing a new Glide Controller for Ornithopters. This thread will contain information, as well as discussion about the controller and the bird.

Bellow is the testing video of the glide controller, updated with lates firmware. This time the will will not imediatelly break the wings movement instead it will run in "Slowdown Mode" for 500ms and it will stop on glide position.

Ornithopters Glide Controller (1 min 8 sec)

Price for the Glide controller + 30A ESC will be SGD 85, its about USD 68.

I will sell it as bundle cause we tried with other esc the brake functionality is not so good. If people want to buy only the Glide controller it will be SGD 65, but I will not guarantee the result will be as precise as the bundle one.

When will I start selling this? We will do flight test this week, hopefully by next week we will be able to sell it. It will be available from www.sgdrone.com

Please note, the above price is without shipment.

I have raw components and pcb board for about 70 controllers, but I have only limited ESC so please register your interest in this thread, I need to know roughtly how many ESC I need to prepare.

What will be included in Sensor + ESC Bundle:
1. Glide controller
2. Hall sensor with 20cm cable
3. Magnet to be attached to main gear
4. 30Amp ESC (Simple programming + Brake enable)
5. 10CM Male to Male Servo Lead (JR) 26AWG (Connecting Rx & Glide Controller)

What you will need :
1. Connector for ESC to Lippo
2. Bullet connector between motor and esc
3. Sensor mounting. The sensor has to be placed within 2mm distance with the magnet.

I will be interested in one. I will need to wait until Proto's bird is available though. Won't do me much good until then I'm afraid.

Carbon frame looking good. But, I think the hinges can be thicker. Also, with alum ferrules, rods tend to break around the lip of alum exit.

Wing color options are great. Will it be possible to purchase second wing/tail set when purchasing in case you want to change it out occasionally ? I can see myself wanting a bright color for high visibility, but also black, as I like the way it would look on your bird.
