The exact story is that I got out of school early and decieded to get the work done now so I don't freeze my but off in mid December. I have a bunh of genaric lights and three collored icicle lights, then four set's of net lights, they each have three, two foot grids, and if one bulb in the grid goes out the whole grid goes, Hmmmm, sorta like our electrical grid in the north east USA. I replaced two bulbs and then I find out that it also had semi bad wireing, then on another grid two has truble with its wireing, but all in all it looks good, might post a Pic of it later.

Personally, I would like to see the whole unnecessary MarketingFest of Xmas kept under lock and key until 1st December; no decorations, no promotions etc, until the actual month involved.

Humbug!

Not even though about it, but sat on the train the other night did see quite a few were up.

In my opinion it's getting stupid. Christmas is a couple of day religious festival, it's not meant to last months like it seems too these days. I can see why shops do it since they are trying to get people to part with their money.

Mine will go up on Christmas eve and come down 12 days after Christmas.

I must confess I'm a fan of the system in some mainland European countries where they keep it under some control, a little easier than here since it is still a religious festival that hasn't been hijacked.

Thanksgiving is the key here. After thanksgiving, it's fair game. I'll probably start putting them out then, but won't light them until Dec 1. I keep them up 'till the new year, so that's a month..

For as much as I despise the over-commercialization of Christmas, I think it is one of the happiest times of the year, and the trouble some folks go to with their lights really just adds to the "spirit".

We're a festive bunch ourselves..
