Jalves.

I got your mail. I will try to integrate a function to auto-set the bit positions.
In next steps i'll also build a routine to auto-adjust the delay before reading from the analog comparator

I read your mail yes.

I think your problem is that the bit-positions are not set correct. You can also try to point your cam at a black background

As jalves had problems (think the bit positions are not right) i'm working on a code which will put a testpattern on line 6 every frame that the arduino can adjust the positions himself.
Though this process can run this way: osd puts in line 6 a testpattern. At the groundstation you press a key, and the arduino reads out the correct positions where the bits start. The pattern will be 10101010 10101010

Any other idea about this?

Had a job change this month and very less time.
Hope i'll release the code within 2weeks

Yes I'm interested, but now a better osd to integrate this would be Dennis Frie's Max osd, since it has more system resources available for program space. Take a look here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1776186

Dennis is developing it a lot, that lm1881 based one is not being any more developed.

Ok, looks nice.

But for that we need an idea how to ouput the data in the hidden video lines. Max7456 is not doing it. Also we need to grab the hsync and vsycn for counting lines that we know when to ouput the data.

Any other ideas?

Start without going into the VBI lines space.
Do like the ikarus OSD that it inserts the data in the side on the image.
The space consumed is minimal.

Example:
Ikarus OSD primer vuelo (4 min 10 sec)

Nice.

Thought about making special characters for the bits 1 and 0 and show them in the first or last row or the visible picture. Can be also very small, and you can also play the data if you play the video again. Will try to post a photo

Yeah, the advantage of this system is that the data is always recorded with the video. (most codecs or devices strip out the VBI space).
Making easier to implement some other app to extract the data.

Maybe you should contact Dennis Frie, he will probably give you some good idea.
