Extreme Flight 60" Extra Conversion ?
Ok guys, I have a question or rather a thought I have been kicking around. I have an Extreme Flight 60" Extra that I am thinking about converting into a small petro plane. I have a DLE 20cc that I believe would fit right on this plane but don't know if the frame could withstand the vibration of a petro motor. Does anyone have any input they could share with performing a conversion such as this.

What's the weight of the plane?
I have one of these sitting in my living room, waiting for a plane. They are rated at 2.5 horsepower max, which is 2.5 x 745 watts = 1862 watts. 1862 / 150 watts per pound = about 12.4 pounds of thrust. So the DLE 20cc gas could put out a max of about 12 pounds of thrust.
I think that this engine could handle a 9 pound aerobatic plane, and have fantastic power.
What is the weight of your 60 inch plane? I am planning on putting my DLE on a 66 inch
Seagull CAP 232. Or a 66 inch Yak. These are "90-size" planes.
