Easy, Cheap Fuselage For 40 Sized Trainer
Hi there. I was just wondering if anyone had an idea or plans for a cheap and easy 40 sized trainer fuselage. I picked one up crashed and am having problems with repairing the old one. So I am opting to build a trainer fuselage to replace the old one. The wing is 64" with ailerons.
The old fuselage was stripped completely, and glued together as necessary. The tail was broken off. It is easily repairable, but am having issues with the fuselage itself. It is fully sheeted, but it has a 'waxy/wet' feeling. I have tried sanding it without luck, keeps gumming up the paper. The top and bottom sides sand like they should. I have tried cleaning solvent, thinner, talcum powder, all with no benefits. But the powder had balled/gummed up the paper, leading me to believe that it is fuel soaked. Any help would and will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
