What brand of brass propellers do you guys recommend?

I have seen very nice quality and scale look from Raboesch. I may have spelled it wrong, but close.

+1 for caswell... I believe the props come with the fittings kit too... get it all at once..

Can the G-factor props be used on an RC boat? I have the impression they're designed for scale display models only.

Actually, I do have a fittings kit coming in a couple of weeks.
But aren't those included with the fittings kit made of white metal not brass?
Caswell does have brass props for the Type VII but I believe they're sold separately from the standard fittings kit.

That's correct redboat219. The fittings kit comes with white metal props. Caswell sells brass props separately. Many years ago when I first got into RC Subs the port & starboard props came together from Caswell. But I guess they sell them separately now.

I have one type VII with brass props and one with the white metal. I really can't tell the difference in performance. Of course a Sub is not a racing boat so it does not make any difference.

I think that Caswell brass props are Raboesch. My first set for the Gato & Type VII came in a Raboesch plastic bag from Caswell..

I used the molded plastic props that came with the Revell Gato kit after the conversion. I dipped it in CA, and let it dry. Surprisingly, they are tough enough to push the boat around, and able to stop it in reverse when need to.

What is the quality like for the G-factor brass props?

Somebody told me that the G-Factor props are metal recast of the kit's plastic pieces. So if those in the kit are inaccurate so will be the brass ones.

a set of brass props came with my type VII when I bought a partialy completely one off here ... but they aren't threaded for a shaft or drilled for a set screw... I just used the white metal props from the caswell kit .. and they work well ....

now... if I could get find time to finish the kinks in the rest of the boat and get it "finished"

Let me restate what I said on another post regarding my Gato props. The G-Factor LOOKED like recast. Mainly because they were identical to the plastic props from the kit. The quality of the casting and finish are excellent. I think the decision is are they accurate enough or not. The big question is the mm of the prop. On the type VII is it the same as the kit? I do not know. Anyone else have them to compare? I chose the Raboesch for my Gato because it was larger like Caswell's prop was, but the blades were thicker than G-Factor (and I need that as I learn more about controlling my sub LOL)

This guy on EBay sells Raboesch props. Here is a Raboesch prop for a Type II. If you order one and you get both port & Starboard props he will combined shipping.

I have the Raboesch props on both my Gato & Type II subs and they are smooth with no pitting. I’m doing another sub as soon as I get the three I have refitted. I will get Raboesch props for it.

This guy will sell you a Gato (Surface runner) http://compare.ebay.com/like/270999377090. He does do diving subs but folks think you must have super clear water for a sub like a large pool but you really don’t.
